Validity of the EQ-5D-5L and EQ-5D-3L in patients with Crohn’s disease

open access: yesQuality of Life Research, 2018
The EuroQol five-dimension questionnaire (EQ-5D) is the most commonly used instrument to obtain utility values for cost-effectiveness analyses of treatments for Crohn's disease (CD). We aimed to compare the measurement properties of the two adult versions of EQ-5D (EQ-5D-3L and EQ-5D-5L) in patients with CD.Between 2016 and 2017, a multicentre cross ...

Lipid Nanoparticles for the Delivery of CRISPR/Cas9 Machinery to Enable Site‐Specific Integration of CFTR and Mutation‐Agnostic Disease Rescue

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) are optimized to co‐deliver Cas9‐encoding messenger RNA (mRNA), a single guide RNA (sgRNA) targeting the endogenous cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene, and homologous linear double‐stranded donor DNA (ldsDNA) templates encoding CFTR.

EQ-5D-5L norms for the urban Chinese population in China

open access: yesHealth and Quality of Life Outcomes, 2018
Background To generate Chinese population norms for the EQ-5D-5L dimensions, EQ-VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) scores and EQ-5D-5L index scores, stratified by gender and age.

Using the EQ-5D as a performance measurement tool in the NHS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In a landmark move, the UK Department of Health (DH) is introducing the routine use of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) as a means of measuring the performance of health care providers in improving patient health.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

A quantile regression approach for modelling a Health-Related Quality of Life Measure

open access: yesStatistica, 2013
Objective. The aim of this study is to propose a new approach for modeling the EQ-5D index and EQ-5D VAS in order to explain the lifestyle determinants effect using the quantile regression analysis. Methods.

A comparison of four different approaches to measuring health utility in depressed patients. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND: A variety of instruments are used to measure health related quality of life. Few data exist on the performance and agreement of different instruments in a depressed population.

Flexibility and Dynamicity Enhances and Controls Supramolecular Self‐Assembly of Zinc(II) Metallogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc(II) coordination complexes with tunable aryloxy‐imine ligands exhibit controllable supramolecular self‐assembly into hierarchical fibrous structures. Coordination‐driven stacking, not π–π interactions, enables gelation, dynamic assembly/disassembly, and enhanced nanomechanical properties.

EQ-5D-3L Population Norms for Trinidad and Tobago

open access: yesCaribbean Medical Journal, 2021
Objective Quality of life measures are increasingly being used in clinical practice and in research. Internationally EQ-5D is the most commonly used generic health related quality of life instrument. The EQ-5D system comprises five dimensions: mobility,
