Detecting Gaussian entanglement via extractable work [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We show how the presence of entanglement in a bipartite Gaussian state can be detected by the amount of work extracted by a continuos variable Szilard-like device, where the bipartite state serves as the working medium of the engine.

Bioatividade da Cabralea canjerana (Vell.) Mart.

Modeling Color and Chemical Changes in Pork Loin During Controlled Roasting: Browning in Focus

open access: yesJournal of Food Process Engineering, Volume 49, Issue 1, January 2026.
Controlled roasting of pork loin revealed how crust formation and color evolution depend on temperature and moisture. Predictive models accurately captured browning, lipid oxidation, and Maillard reaction, offering insights for optimizing roasting conditions and improving product quality in meat processing.

Long‐term assessment of the Moss Layer Transfer Technique for the restoration of Sphagnum‐dominated peatlands

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Introduction Peatlands are crucial for carbon storage and biodiversity but face increasing human degradation. The Moss Layer Transfer Technique (MLTT) has emerged as an effective method for restoring Sphagnum‐dominated vegetation in post‐extracted horticultural peatlands. Objectives This study evaluates vegetation restoration trajectories over

Combined Dip‐Coating and Spray Coating Techniques for Modifying PVDF Membranes With PDMS and TiO2 for Photocatalytic Membrane Distillation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 47, December 15, 2025.
Main steps of membrane modification to impart hydrophobic character and its characterization for photocatalytic vacuum membrane distillation. ABSTRACT Membrane modification or functionalization techniques are widely studied to develop membranes with tailored properties for specific applications. This work investigates the combination of two methods—dip‐

Viscosity coefficients for hadron and quark-gluon phases

open access: yes, 2010
The shear ($\eta$) and bulk ($\zeta$) viscosities are calculated in a quasiparticle relaxation time approximation. The hadron phase is described within the relativistic mean field based model with scaled hadron masses and couplings.
