Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) and forging of commercially pure titanium (CP-Ti)
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017Pure titanium with ultra-fine grained (UFG) microstructure is an exceptionally interesting material for biomedical and dental applications due to its very good biocompatibility and high strength. Such bulk, high-strength UFG materials are commonly produced by different Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) techniques, whereof Equal Channel Angular Pressing (

Abstract Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) with different passes was carried out for Mg-Al-Mn (AM) series magnesium alloy to investigate the microstructure and mechanical properties. ECAP process was carried up to 4 passes using route B C , where the samples are rotated by 90° in the same direction between consecutive passes. Microstructures were

Lattice Strain Distribution on Aluminium After Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) Process
International Review of Mechanical Engineering (IREME), 2017This study is aimed at determining the lattice strain distribution of Aluminium after having been deformed using the equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) process. The Sample is Aluminium alloys series 5052. ECAP process was conducted in steel dies at ambient temperature with Molybdenum disulphide as solid lubricant.

A comparison of FEM and upper-bound type analysis of equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP)
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2003Abstract In this paper the pressures needed for non-friction equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) of perfectly plastic or strain-hardening materials are analysed using analytical approximations (upper-bound type) and numerical (finite-elements) methods.

In the present work the annealed mild steel was processed by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) at different temperatures of 200, 250, 300 and 350 °C. The mild steel of 60 mm height and 12 mm diameter was ECAPed for two passes through 120° die channel and 20° corner angle.

ECAP has proved to be an effective method to obtain ultrafine grain structure. Methods like extrusion are used in industries to obtain Al-based alloys, and composites as high loads for pressing are recommended for powder consolidation without very high temperatures.

Abstract Aluminium metal matrix composites were processed by stir casting technique with commercially pure aluminium as the matrix material and 5, 10 vol.% of SiC (30 μm) particulates as the reinforcement. Al–SiC p composites were subjected to severe plastic deformation through equal channel angular pressing (ECAP).

The commercial purity zirconium (Zr702) has been deformed by Equal Channel Angular Press (ECAP) up to eight passes using route A and BC. The deformation microstructure and the bulk texture have been characterized by Electron Backscattered Diffraction (EBSD) in SEM and X-rays diffraction (XRD), respectively.

Die for Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) process: Design and Manufacturing
2019This paper describes equal channel angular pressing process in terms of die design and die manufacturing. Equal Channel Angular Pressing process also known as ECAP is one of the most efficient process to produce high strength, hardness and toughness materials without changing its dimension by refinement of grains.
