Bioresorbable Scaffolds for Coronary Arteries: Where Do We Stand Today?

open access: yesVIEW Medicine, Volume 1, Issue 1, August 2026.
Bioresorbable coronary scaffolds are moving from thick strut pitfalls to thinner, stronger, healing‐oriented designs. Integrating advances in materials, guided implantation with preparation, size, and postdilation steps, and resorption aligned to healing, we synthesize clinical evidence and chart a roadmap toward intelligent, transient platforms ...

Heat‐Resistant Copper Alloys for Extreme Thermal Environments: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Design Strategies

open access: yescMat, Volume 3, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Copper (Cu) and copper‐based alloys are indispensable in high‐heat‐flux systems, such as aerospace propulsion, fusion reactors, and advanced power electronics, due to their high thermal conductivity and good manufacturability. However, extreme service conditions increasingly demand not only high thermal conductivity but also elevated ...

On the cold rolling of AZ31 Mg alloy after Equal Channel Angular Pressing

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys, 2014
Among the various Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) processes, Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) is one of the most applicable one which improves strength and ductility due to grain refinement and suitable texture development.

Impact of geometric factors and shear stress on endothelial function: Hemodynamic insights from human cerebral arterial bifurcations

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, June 2026.
Abstract Vascular inflammation is not a random biological event but rather a process that is strictly regulated by physical forces. While biochemical mediators are well characterized, the local physical mechanisms that predispose specific cerebral vascular sites to inflammation, specifically the geometry of arterial bifurcations, remain ...

Influence of Back Pressure on the Microstructure and Texture Characteristics of AA5083 During Equal Channel Angular Pressing Under Thermal Effect

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
The study focused on the microstructural evolution and the effects of temperature on the ECAP process. The alloy's response to grain refinement and its relationship with ECAP at elevated temperatures were thoroughly examined. ABSTRACT In the current investigation was to examine how the microstructure of AA5083 changed under various processing settings ...

Advancing Severe Plastic Deformation for Tubular Samples: Systematic Review and Machine Learning Optimization

open access: yesMetalMat, Volume 3, Issue 1, March 2026.
This review highlights recent advancements in Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) techniques tailored for tubular samples. The mechanisms of processing are critically discussed with emphasis on microstructural control and the governing process parameters that enable refinement to ultrafine‐ and nano‐grained structures. Comparative insights into equivalent

Equal-Channel Angular Pressing of NiAl

open access: yes, 2010
Equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) was applied to polycrystalline NiAl at temperatures around the brittle-to-ductile transition temperature (BDTT). NiAl rods encapsulated in a steel jacket were ECAP-processed in a die with a channel angle of 120°. The

Grain shape and microstructural evolution during equal channel angular pressing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The congruence between theoretical and experimental shape changes in flow plane microstructures after repetitive equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) by route A is demonstrated for initially spheroidal grains.

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 4, 18 February 2026.
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.
