Efficient and secure equality tests
2016 IEEE International Workshop on Information Forensics and Security (WIFS), 2016Secure equality testing of two private values is one of the fundamental building blocks of many cryptographic protocols designed for Signal Processing in the Encrypted Domain (SPED). Existing protocols introduce significant amount of computation and computational overhead, which makes it essential to search for new and novel, efficient equality tests ...

Testing equality of stationary autocovariances
Journal of Time Series Analysis, 2009Abstract. This article studies tests for assessing whether two stationary and independent time series have the same dynamics – specifically, whether the autocovariances of both series coincide at all lags. Frequency domain statistics previously proposed for this purpose are reviewed. A time domain statistic is then developed and investigated.

Test strategies for adaptive equalizers
2009 IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference, 2009This paper provides an overview of the test strategies for both continuous-time and digitally-assisted adaptive equalizers. Conventionally, an equalizer is characterized by the explicit measurement of the eye diagram at its output, which requires a lengthy testing time and is too costly for production testing.

Testing equality of two functions using BARS
Statistics in Medicine, 2005This article presents two methods of testing the hypothesis of equality of two functions H(0):f(1)(t)=f(2)(t) for all t, in a generalized non-parametric regression framework using a recently developed generalized non-parametric regression method called Bayesian adaptive regression splines (BARS).

Privacy and Equality in Diagnostic Genetic Testing
Nursing Ethics, 2007This study aimed to determine the extent to which the principles of privacy and equality were observed during diagnostic genetic testing according to views held by patients or child patients' parents (n = 106) and by staff (n = 162) from three Finnish university hospitals.

Testing odds-ratio equality for several diseases
Biometrika, 1989Let \(D=1,...,K\) denote diseases, and let \(D=0\) denote disease-free. It is assumed that the probability that \(D=k\) given a covariate \(z=(z_ 1,...,z_ p)\) and given membership in stratum \(\sigma\) is \[ pr(D=k| z,\sigma)=\exp (\alpha_{\sigma k}+z\beta_ k)/\sum^{K}_{j=0}\exp (\alpha_{\sigma j}+z\beta_ j). \] Here \(\alpha_{\sigma 0}=0\), \(\alpha_{

Although multiple regression analysis is the preferred statistical technique for examining questions of internal pay equity, a variety of other statistical and nonstatistical techniques are often used. Some common tools for examining disparate treatment in compensation include a comparison of means and medians, t-tests, cohort analyses, and tipping ...

Gender equality after Test Achats
ERA Forum, 2012The relationship between the principle of gender equality and insurance has always been a difficult one. On the one hand, gender equality is a fundamental principle of European Union Law. At the moment, the solution lies in the unsatisfactory compromise encapsulated in Article 5 of the Goods and Services Directive which entails a principle (Art 5(1 ...
