Digital audio equalizers with flat frequency response

2009 International Symposium on Signals, Circuits and Systems, 2009
In this paper a design method of the digital audio equalizers with small ringing impulse responses, by using symmetric B-spline functions and spline polynomials, is presented. It is important to have a flat frequency response for the audio equalizer.

Multipoint equalization of digital car audio systems

2009 Proceedings of 6th International Symposium on Image and Signal Processing and Analysis, 2009
In this paper a novel approach for automotive sound system enhancement based on multipoint equalization is presented. Beginning from well known techniques applied to room equalization issues, a frequency domain algorithm that combines fractional octave smoothing of measured impulse responses (IRs) in multiple locations is developed.

Gravitational Search Algorithm for IIR Filter-Based Audio Equalization

2020 28th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2021
In this paper we present an evolutionary algorithm for the design of stable IIR filters for binaural audio equalization. The filters are arranged as a cascade of second-order sections (SOS’s) and the gravitational search algorithm (GSA) is used. This process seeks for optimal coefficients based on a fitness function, possibly leading to unstable ...

Audio-Speech Watermarking Using a Channel Equalizer

Wireless Personal Communications, 2017
Currently, the use of telephone systems is highly popular in speech telecommunication and also they have a wide presence in transmission of digital signals. In recent years, audio-speech watermarking as a modern technique makes use of the telephone channel to transmit the watermark data, but addressing the watermark’s vulnerability to noise in the ...

Reciprocal, subtractive, audio spectrum equalizer

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1991
An equalizer circuit is disclosed having adjustable bandpass filters connected with operational amplifiers in feedforward and feedback paths so as to form frequency selective boost and cut signal components, which are then combined to form the equalized output signal by a subtractive operation with a direct unfiltered signal path arranged in parallel ...

Self-Adjusting Audio Equalizer, A

2014
One goal of an audio equalizer is to adjust an audio signal to compensate for the acoustics of the speakers playing the signal as well as the room in which the signal is played. Certain frequency bands are amplified while others are attenuated, so that any damping of the sound in the room is 'equalized' and, ideally, the frequency response of the audio

An Efficient Multichannel Equalization Algorithm for Audio Applications

2007 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing - ICASSP '07, 2007
The challenge of multichannel equalization for audio applications lies in the physical properties of the underlying multi-input/multi-output (MIMO) linear time-invariant systems which are generally non-minimum phase and exhibit extremely long impulse responses, thereby imposing a considerable computational burden on the equalization task particularly ...

Equalizer and audio device using the same

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1997
An equalizer includes: a first attenuating circuit which receives an input signal and a first control signal and attenuates the input signal depending on the level of the first control signal; a filter having a predetermined frequency band which receives the output from the first attenuating circuit; an adding circuit which receives the output from the

An Automatic Graphic Equalizer for Car Audio Systems

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1984
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Although a graphic equalizer is almost essential for high quality automobile audio systems, consumers, not knowing the actual data of the field in automotive cabins, often have difficulty making a satisfactory adjustment.
