Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

Mobility of Magmas Within the Earth: Insights From the Elasticity and Transport Properties of Hydrous Albitic Melts

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems
The continental crust is produced by the solidification of aluminosilicate‐rich magmas which are sourced from deep below the surface. Migration of the magma depends on the density (ρ) contrast to source rocks and the melt viscosity (η).

Detecting homologous recombination deficiency for breast cancer through integrative analysis of genomic data

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

Solubility Prediction of High Molecular Weight n-Paraffins in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2007
Solubility of high molecular weight n-paraffins in supercritical carbon dioxide has been a matter of interest to many researchers. However, not sufficient solubility experimental data are available although the methods by which the experimental data are ...

TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

Thermodynamic Property Model of Wide-Fluid Phase Propane [PDF]

open access: yesITB Journal of Engineering Science, 2007
A new thermodynamic property model for propane is expressed in form of the Helmholtz free energy function. It consists of eight terms of the ideal-gas part and eighteen terms of the residual part.

Systematic profiling of cancer‐fibroblast interactions reveals drug combinations in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Fibroblasts, cells in the tumor environment, support ovarian cancer cell growth and alter morphology and drug response. We used fibroblast and cancer cell co‐culture models to test 528 drugs and discovered new drugs for combination treatment. We showed that adding Vorinostat or Birinapant to standard chemotherapy may improve drug response, suggesting ...
