Equations of Motion and Navier–Stokes Equations
In this research, we present the analogies between variational calculations in cosmology and in classical mechanics. Our approach is based on the invariants for transformations of affine connections defined on N-dimensional manifolds (special cases are ...

The Motion of Point Particles in Curved Spacetime [PDF]
This review is concerned with the motion of a point scalar charge, a point electric charge, and a point mass in a specified background spacetime. In each of the three cases the particle produces a field that behaves as outgoing radiation in the wave zone,

Motions of Curves in the Projective Plane Inducing the Kaup-Kupershmidt Hierarchy [PDF]
The equation of a motion of curves in the projective plane is deduced. Local flows are defined in terms of polynomial differential functions. A family of local flows inducing the Kaup-Kupershmidt hierarchy is constructed.

On the initial-value problem of the Maxwell-Lorentz equations. [PDF]
We consider the Maxwell-Lorentz equations, i.e., the equation of motion of a charged dust coupled to Maxwell's equations, on an arbitrary general-relativistic spacetime.

Vibration of a flexible pipe conveying viscous pulsating fluid flow [PDF]
The non-linear equations of motion of a flexible pipe conveying unsteadily flowing fluid are derived from the continuity and momentum equations of unsteady flow. These partial di!erential equations are fully coupled through equilibrium of contact forces,

Flight Loads Analysis with Inertially Coupled Equations of Motion [PDF]
In this work an approach for simulation of a large passenger aircraft with high precision equations of motion and a new method of dynamic loads calculation is presented, which can be used for maneuver and gust loads analysis in the time domain. Equations

The equation of motion of an electron [PDF]
The claim by Rohrlich that the Abraham-Lorentz-Dirac equation is not the correct equation for a classical point charge is shown to be incorrect and it is pointed out that the equation which he proposes is the equation {\underline{derived}} by Ford and O'Connell for a charge with structure. The quantum-mechanical case is also discussed.

The equation of motion of an electron [PDF]
We review the current status of understanding of the equation of motion of an electron. Classically, a consistent, linearized theory exists for an electron of finite extent, as long as the size of the electron is larger than the classical electron radius.

The motion of point vortices on closed surfaces [PDF]
We develop a mathematical framework for the dynamics of a set of point vortices on a class of differentiable surfaces conformal to the unit sphere. When the sum of the vortex circulations is non-zero, a compensating uniform vorticity field is required to
