Human ABCE1 cannot functionally replace its yeast ortholog. Yeast–human chimera analysis identified NBD1 as a major interspecies barrier. Genetic screening yielded hABCE1 revertants that rescue yeast viability but fail to suppress aberrant translation reinitiation in the 3′ UTR.

Investment and Prices in Kaldor’s Model of Income Distribution
In the first part of this paper are restated the main differences separating the Keynesian from the neoclassical theory with respect to aggregate demand and national income.

Recent insights into the molecular mechanism of ubiquinol oxidation by cytochrome bc1
The review reflects on the mechanism of the catalytic reaction in cytochrome bc1: the electron bifurcation that involves the separation of two electrons derived from the quinol oxidation to opposite sides of the enzyme across the membrane. This review summarizes the long‐standing effort to understand the mechanism of quinol oxidation catalyzed by ...

Non-equilibrium work distribution for interacting colloidal particles under friction
We experimentally investigate the non-equilibrium steady-state distribution of the work done by an external force on a mesoscopic system with many coupled degrees of freedom: a colloidal crystal mechanically driven across a commensurate periodic light ...

Generalized equilibrium distributions
Abstract We define the generalized equilibrium distribution, that is the equilibrium distribution of a random variable with support in $\mathbb{R}$ .

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Directed Search for Equilibrium Wage-Tenure Contracts [PDF]
I construct a theoretical framework in which firms offer wage-tenure contracts to direct the search by risk-averse workers. All workers can search, on or off the job. I characterize an equilibrium and prove its existence.

Equilibrium Distributions and Superconductivity
In this article two models for charges distributions are discussed. On the basis of our consideration we put different points of view for stationary state. We prove that only finite energy model for charges' distribution and well-known variation principle explain some well-known experimental results. A new model for superconductivity was suggested, too.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...
