Income Distribution and Poverty in a CGE Framework: A Proposed Methodology [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper discusses methodologies addressing income distribution and poverty in a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model framework, by describing how to link CGE results with household survey data to analyze income distribution and poverty ...

Magnetic Spectra Comparison for Kappa-distributed Whistler Electron Fluctuations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
In the inner heliosphere, space measurements have revealed that plasma is well described by the kappa distributions, which are characterized by the value of the κ parameter.

Mass-Conserved Wall Treatment of the Non-Equilibrium Extrapolation Boundary Condition in Lattice Boltzmann Method

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
In lattice Boltzmann simulations, the widely used non-equilibrium extrapolation method for velocity and pressure boundary conditions can cause a constant mass leakage under certain circumstances, particularly when an external force field is imposed on ...

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Quantum Lattice Boltzmann Method based on linear equilibrium distribution functions

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering
In this paper, we propose a complete formulation of the Lattice Boltzmann Method adapted for quantum computing. The classical collision, based on linear equilibrium distribution functions and streaming steps, are reformulated as linear algebraic ...

Multi-objective Optimization of Accommodation Capacity for Distributed Generation Based on Mixed Strategy Nash Equilibrium, Considering Distribution Network Flexibility

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
The increasing penetration of distributed generation (DG) brings about great fluctuation and uncertainty in distribution networks. In order to improve the ability of distribution networks to cope with disturbances caused by uncertainties and to evaluate ...

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Relative Entropy in Biological Systems

open access: yesEntropy, 2016
In this paper we review various information-theoretic characterizations of the approach to equilibrium in biological systems. The replicator equation, evolutionary game theory, Markov processes and chemical reaction networks all describe the dynamics of ...

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.
