Dynamics and Bifurcation Analysis of an Eco-Epidemiological Model in a Crowley–Martin Functional Response with the Impact of Fear

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings, 2023
This article describes a three-species food web model that was developed by considering the interaction between susceptible prey, infected prey, and predator species.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Dynamics and Event-Triggered Impulsive Control of a Fractional-Order Epidemic Model with Time Delay

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2023
Due to the lack of timely protection measures against infectious diseases, or based on the particularity of the transmission of some infectious diseases and the time-varying connections between people, the transmission dynamics of infectious diseases in ...

On generalized equilibrium points

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2004
Let \(X=X_{1}\times X_{2}\times\cdots\times X_{n}\) be a product of Euclidean spaces and \(\varphi:X\times X\rightarrow\mathbb{R}\) be a function. This paper introduces the notion of \(\varepsilon\)-equilibrium point of \(f\), where \(\varepsilon=(\varepsilon_{1},\varepsilon_{2},\ldots\varepsilon_{n} )\in\mathbb{R}^{n}\), as follows: \(x=(x_{1},x_{2 ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Susceptible-Infected-Susceptible Epidemic Discrete Dynamic System Based on Tsallis Entropy

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
This investigation deals with a discrete dynamic system of susceptible-infected-susceptible epidemic (SISE) using the Tsallis entropy. We investigate the positive and maximal solutions of the system. Stability and equilibrium are studied. Moreover, based

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
