Substrate Engineering for Durable Omniphobic Liquid‐Like Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The significant yet less investigated role of substrates in determining the liquid‐repellency and mechanical durability of liquid‐like surfaces (LLSs) is explored. Thick and crack‐free sol–gel silica intermediary layers are developed that can smoothen substrate asperity roughness even at the micron scale, enabling omniphobic polydimethylsiloxane‐based ...

A globally convergent flow for computing the best low rank approximation of a matrix

open access: yes, 2007
We work in the space of $m$-by-$n$ real matrices with the Frobenius inner product. Consider the following Problem: Given an m-by-n real matrix A and a positive integer k, find the m-by-n matrix with rank k that is closest to A.

A class of operator equilibrium problems

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2005
AbstractIn this paper, we consider a class of operator equilibrium problems (OEP for short) with operator solutions and derive a Minty type lemma for this class of problems. Further, using this lemma and KKM theorem, we establish some existence theorems for OEP. The theorems presented in this paper generalize, improve and unify many known results.

Prospects of Electric Field Control in Perpendicular Magnetic Tunnel Junctions and Emerging 2D Spintronics for Ultralow Energy Memory and Logic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

Strong convergence theorems for equilibrium problems and fixed point problems: A new iterative method, some comments and applications

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2011
In this paper, we introduce a new approach method to find a common element in the intersection of the set of the solutions of a finite family of equilibrium problems and the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping in a real Hilbert space.

A New Extragradient-Viscosity Method for a Variational Inequality, an Equilibrium Problem, and a Fixed Point Problem

open access: yesMathematics
In this research article, we introduce a novel iterative approach that builds upon a two-step extragradient-viscosity method. This method aims to find a common element among the solution set of a variational inequality, an equilibrium problem, and the ...

On generalized vector equilibrium problems

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2002
AbstractAn existence result for a generalized vector equilibrium problem is proved in a general topological vector space. As applications, existence results are derived for vector equilibrium problems and vector variational-like inequalities with set-valued mappings under Ψ-monotonicity condition and maximal Ψ-monotonicity condition.

On the generalized vector equilibrium problems

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2008
AbstractIn this paper, generalized vector equilibrium problems are studied and some existence theorems of solutions for these problems in the setting of topological vector spaces are proved. Sufficient conditions for the set of solutions to be compact and convex are given. Our results improve some recent results in this field.
