Cu‐based catalysts as a cornerstone in advancing sustainable energy technologies are fully reviewed in this manuscript, highlighting their potential in photo‐ and electrocatalysis. It includes metallic copper, copper oxides, copper sulfides, copper halide perovskites, copper‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), and covalent organic frameworks (COFs),

Cosmological and thermodynamics analysis in Weyl gravity
In the framework of modified Weyl gravity, we observe the equilibrium picture of the thermodynamical laws for flat Friedmann–Robertson–Walker metric with chameleon scalar field and analyze the validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics and ...

Open system trajectories specify fluctuating work but not heat
Based on the explicit knowledge of a Hamiltonian of mean force, the classical statistical mechanics and equilibrium thermodynamics of open systems in contact with a thermal environment at arbitrary interaction strength can be formulated.

Multifunctional atomic layer deposited coatings and interface treatments enhance direct solar water splitting on GaAs/GaInP tandem cells. Optimized TiO2/Pt nanoparticle bilayers ensure durability and catalytic efficiency with minimal optical losses, while H2 plasma pretreatments maximize photovoltage and interfacial charge extraction.

Off-equilibrium confined dynamics in a glassy system with level-crossing states
We study analytically the dynamics of a generalized p-spin model, starting with a thermalized initial condition. The model presents birth and death of states, hence the dynamics (even starting at equilibrium) may go out of equilibrium when the ...

Thermodynamics of the Quantum Mpemba Effect. [PDF]
We investigate the quantum Mpemba effect from the perspective of nonequilibrium quantum thermodynamics by studying relaxation dynamics of quantum systems coupled to a Markovian heat bath, which are described by Davies maps.

The versatile precursor‐assisted soft sphere close packing during slot‐die coating is investigated with in situ X‐ray scattering. The soft crystallization pathways towards a close packing involve multistep structural transitions such as surface nucleation, in‐plane, and out‐of‐plane crystallization.

New formulation of local-equilibrium thermodynamics
This study points out that the conventional separation of balance equations for energy in fluids into a flow and a source term is not thermodynamically valid.
