Multiscale modeling of electrolytes in porous electrode: From equilibrium structure to non-equilibrium transport

open access: yesGreen Energy & Environment, 2020
Understanding the mechanisms and properties of various transport processes in the electrolyte, porous electrode, and at the interface between electrode and electrolyte plays a crucial role in guiding the improvement of electrolytes, materials and ...

Dynamic Networks via Polymerizable Deep Eutectic Monomers for Uniform Li+ Transport at Interfaces in Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The PDEM‐based SIGPE provides a dynamic nanophase from Li+‐bridged molecular self‐association, enhancing electrochemical stability and facilitating uniform Li+ ion flux at the interface. This unique solvation structure results in a hetero species‐driven inorganic‐rich SEI and long‐term cycle stability, suggesting that a PFAS‐free Li+‐containing monomer

Strain Partitioning at the Oxide Interface for the Isothermal Phase Transition in Freestanding Tri‐Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The metal–insulator transition temperature (TMI) is continuously tuned by the systematic change of relative thickness in VO2 and TiO2 films (tVO2/tTiO2${t_{{\mathrm{V}}{{\mathrm{O}}_2}}}/{t_{{\mathrm{Ti}}{{\mathrm{O}}_2}}}$) in freestanding TiO2/VO2/TiO2 tri‐layers.

A Visible Light‐Responsive Hydrogel to Study the Effect of Dynamic Tissue Stiffness on Cellular Mechanosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A visible light‐responsive polyacrylamide‐azobenzene hydrogel enables safe, reversible stiffness control for studying cell mechanobiology without harmful UV exposure. This approach reveals stem cells respond rapidly to mechanical changes, showing altered shape and protein distribution within one hour.

Non-Equilibrium Evolutional Thermodynamics of Boundary Friction [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2010
The general thermodynamic model of ultrathin lubricant film melting is proposed. The critical value of shear velocity, at which lubricant melts according to the shear melting mechanism, was found.

Coupling Interfacial Redox‐Reactions with In Situ Proton Generation for the Photoelectrochemical Separation of Rare‐Earth Elements

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
To enhance the sustainability of electrochemical separations for resource recovery, a photoelectrochemical ion recovery system is developed that utilizes renewable solar energy. A composite integrating titianium dioxide nanorods and a redox‐copolymer enables spontaneous cation adsorption and light‐activated redox reactions for regeneration, thus ...
