Equine Arteritis Virus-induced Polypeptide Synthesis

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 1986
Intracellular virus-specific proteins induced by equine arteritis virus (EAV) have been compared with in vitro translation products of virion and intracellular EAV RNAs. In infected BHK-21 cells, the two major virion proteins (C and E1) and polypeptides with mol. wt. of 60,000 (p60), 42,000 (p42) and 30,000 (p30) were found.

Structural Protein Requirements in Equine Arteritis Virus Assembly [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2004
ABSTRACT Equine arteritis virus (EAV) is an enveloped, positive-stranded RNA virus belonging to the family Arteriviridae of the order Nidovirales . EAV particles contain seven structural proteins: the nucleocapsid protein N, the unglycosylated envelope proteins M and E, and the N ...

Viable porcine arteriviruses with deletions proximal to the 3 ' end of the genome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In order to obtain attenuated live vaccine candidates of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), a series of deletions was introduced at the 3′ end of the viral genome using an infectious cDNA clone of the Lelystad virus isolate. RNA

Seroepidemiological Survey on Equine Viral Arteritis in Two Regions in Tunisia

open access: yesRevue d’Elevage et de Médecine Vétérinaire des Pays Tropicaux, 2002
A seroepidemiological survey was carried out on equine viral arteritis in two regions of Tunisia: Ariana and Kasserine. The authors researched specific antibodies against the arteritis virus by the serum neutralization technique in a sample ...

Demonstrating the importance of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus papain-like protease 2 deubiquitinating activity in viral replication by structure-guided mutagenesis.

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2023
Deubiquitination of cellular substrates by viral proteases is a mechanism used to interfere with host cellular signaling processes, shared between members of the coronavirus- and arterivirus families.

An intermolecular salt bridge linking substrate binding and P1 substrate specificity switch of arterivirus 3C-like proteases

open access: yesComputational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, 2022
Equine arteritis virus (EAV) and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) represent two members of the family Arteriviridae and pose a major threat to the equine- and swine-breeding industries throughout the world.

Viruses in Horses with Neurologic and Respiratory Diseases. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Metagenomics was used to identify viral sequences in the plasma and CSF (cerobrospinal fluid) of 13 horses with unexplained neurological signs and in the plasma and respiratory swabs of 14 horses with unexplained respiratory signs. Equine hepacivirus and

On-site detection of equid alphaherpesvirus 3 in perineal and genital swabs of mares and stallions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Equine coital exanthema (ECE) is an infectious, venereally transmitted muco-cutaneous disease affecting mares and stallions, caused by equid alphaherpesvirus 3 (EHV3).

Persistent Equine Arteritis Virus Infection in HeLa Cells [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2008
ABSTRACT The horse-adapted virulent Bucyrus (VB) strain of equine arteritis virus (EAV) established persistent infection in high-passage-number human cervix cells (HeLa-H cells; passages 170 to 221) but not in low-passage-number human cervix cells (HeLa-L cells; passages 95 to 115) or in several other cell lines that were evaluated.
