Health Monitoring of Critical Power System Equipments using Identifying Codes [PDF]
High voltage power transformers are one of the most critical equipments in the electric power grid. A sudden failure of a power transformer can significantly disrupt bulk power delivery. Before a transformer reaches its critical failure state, there are indicators which, if monitored periodically, can alert an operator that the transformer is heading ...

Electro-mechanical vibratory system [PDF]
The problem of predicting the phase angle of two self-synchronized rotors starting from rest is presented. It is shown that with insufficient power the rotors may not reach the final operating speed of the motors and stay locked at one of the lower ...

Protecting the flight test programme [PDF]
Considerable effort is put into the safety risk assessment of any flight test programme - and rightly so, since failures to apply best practice in this area may cause significant expense, and in extremis loss of life.

In‐mold electronics (IME) enables the integration of circuits into more complex scenarios, yet the key challenge remains ensuring a fully functional device. This study investigates how the presence of structural adhesives can improve the performance and functionality of IME devices, addressing key challenges in device integration.

This article investigates optimal processing conditions for the laser‐based powder bed fusion of WE43. To limit the interaction with remaining oxygen, a 3 vol% hydrogen admixture to the inert gas is investigated. Furthermore, heat treatments are investigated in the range of 250–350 °C for 48 h.

Sensor-fusion based Prognostics Framework for Complex Engineering Systems Exhibiting Multiple Failure Modes [PDF]
Complex engineering systems are often subject to multiple failure modes. Developing a remaining useful life (RUL) prediction model that does not consider the failure mode causing degradation is likely to result in inaccurate predictions. However, distinguishing between causes of failure without manually inspecting the system is nontrivial.
