Equipment Failure Data: A Re-Analysis

1994
Recent research at NORWEB concerned with rationalising the comany's equipment replacement policies, has focussed on the failure rates of 11kV / 415V pole-mounted transformers. Results confirm that the Gumbel distribution provides a much more convincing analytical representation for these fault data than the usual Weibull option.

Failure of planetary pinions in earth moving equipment—a failure analysis approach

Engineering Failure Analysis, 2000
A series of failures of planetary pinions occurred in the final drive epicyclic gearbox of large trucks used in underground mining. A metallurgical analysis indicated that failure had occurred by internal rupture of the gear. This was attributed to poor heat treatment procedures used in case hardening the gear.

Study on Equipment Failure Based on Static Strength Analysis

Key Engineering Materials, 2018
In this paper, the theory of process failure as the basis for analysis of working conditions based on the use of production line process equipment. In ANSYS static strength theory, technology and equipment to analyze the static strength, find the weak points of equipment. For weak points and system reliability and lifetime prediction, and establish the

Failure Analysis Associated with Mining and Heavy Mechanical Equipment

1978
The analysis of failures of mining and heavy mechanical equipment, in general, follows the same guidelines and techniques as applied to other failures. Since these general procedures with examples are discussed elsewhere in detail, this paper will concentrate on an in depth discussion of the tools and techniques for failure analysis which pertain to ...
