Equivalent Damping Modeling In the Framework of SmEdA
City Lightweight Innovative Cab (project CLIC) aims at developing a new generation of lightweight trucks. Mass reduction of a structural body may necessitate extensive use of additive damping mechanisms. Statistical Modal Energy Distribution Analysis (SmEdA) can be used to analyze the energy transmission of a structure-cavity system in the mid-high ...

A Soft Robotic Fish With a Dielectric Elastomer Actuator Body and Negative Stiffness Spine
This work introduces a bio‐mimetic soft robotic fish driven by fiber‐reinforced dielectric elastomer actuators integrated as its body. By prestretching this active skin against a flexible spine, a negative stiffness system is created, enabling large‐amplitude bending.

The influence of the target earthquake design level on the dynamic response of damped structures
This work investigates how the energy dissipation properties of a structure equipped with nonlinear commercial viscous dampers, designed for a specific target seismic level, are influenced by the variation in the earthquake intensity level, thus ...

A flexible, skin‐integrated electromagnetic actuator is developed for wearable virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR) haptic systems. A tunable design model enables control over displacement and resonance frequency. The system is validated through a custom VR application with a 6 × 4 actuator array, demonstrating real‐time, spatially targeted tactile ...

CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.

Equivalent static wind loads for structures with non-proportional damping [PDF]
peer reviewedIn current practice, wind structural design is often carried out using the concept of equivalent static wind loads. The main characteristic of such loadings is to reproduce, with static analyses, the same extreme structural responses as ...

In rheumatoid arthritis, synovial Tregs accumulate but are functionally impaired due to iron overload‐induced ferroptosis. This triggers mitochondrial dysfunction and TXK tyrosine kinase‐mediated signaling, leading to Treg destabilization and inflammation.
