Equivalent circuit of dipole antenna of arbitrary length

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1997
The purpose of this letter is to derive an equivalent circuit for a dipole of any length and to compare the input impedance versus frequency of the resulting equivalent circuit with published analytical and experimental data.

An equivalent length model of microdialysis sampling

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2002
One of the critical issues in microdialysis sampling is how to predict the extraction fraction (E(d)), based on transport properties of analytes in both tissues and probes. A one-dimensional (1-D) model has been used widely in previous studies to predict E(d) at the steady state. However, this model is valid only for long probes.

Equivalent focal length measurements

SPIE Proceedings, 1999
Converting linear coordinates in the plane of the detector of an astronomical instrument to celestial coordinates involves in principle the equivalent focal length of the instrument. However, most methods in astrometry manage to reduce observations in a global manner without actually measuring a focal length.

Equivalent path lengths in an integrating cavity: comment

Applied Optics, 2010
The equivalent absorption path length in an integrating cavity is examined. In an otherwise excellent paper, Tranchart et al. [Appl. Opt. 35, 7070 (1996)] made an important error in obtaining the expressions for the equivalent path length in an integrating cavity.

Equivalence Classes of Length Functions on Groups

Proceedings of the London Mathematical Society, 1985
This paper studies a type of function defined on groups with values in commutative ordered groups, which generalizes the length functions of Lyndon-Chiswell. Applications to orderable groups and unique product groups are given. Some structure theorems are obtained. A group is constructed which may be viewed as a ''continuous'' free product of the reals.

Arc length tests for equivalent autocovariances

Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, 2012
This paper presents a new test for discerning whether or not two independent time series have the same dynamics. Several methods in the time and spectral domain have previously been devised to conduct such a test. Here, we explore a new approach to the problem by comparing sample arc lengths (ALs) of the two series.

Bounded length UCFG equivalence

1996
A randomised polylog time algorithm is given for deciding whether or not the sets of words of a given length generated by two unambiguous context-free grammars coincide. The algorithm is in randomised NC4 in terms of the product of the grammar size and the length.

Determining Equivalent Length of Pipe

Transportation Engineering Journal of ASCE, 1975
In the design of a water main network, one commonly used practice to simplify the calculations is to replace a certain nunber of network pipes with a single hydraulically equivalent pipe. Many excellent techniques and nomographs have been published for calculating the length of the equivalent pipe.
