Magnetic equivalent circuit of synchronous reluctance machine
2016 ELEKTRO, 2016Finite element method (FEM) is a powerful tool in analysis of electrical machines however, the computational cost is high depending on the geometry of analyzed machine. In synchronous reluctance machines (SyRM) with transversally laminated rotors, the anisotropy of magnetic circuit is provided by flux barriers which can be of various shapes.

Dual Equivalent of Magnetic Circuits with Hysteresis
2007 Compatibility in Power Electronics, 2007A representation of magnetic circuits with a topological dual equivalent circuits is presented. The dual equivalent circuit consists of permeance elements instead of reluctances and includes the modelling of hysteresis nonlinearity and iron losses. The hysteretic permeances in the dual magnetic circuit are modelled with the Jiles-Atherton (JA) approach

Magnetic equivalent circuit modelling of Reluctance Machines
2016 Eleventh International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER), 2016This paper is devoted to the fast modelling of Switched Reluctance Machines (SRMs) and Synchronous Reluctance Machines (SynRMs) by Magnetic Equivalent Circuit (MEC) approach. For SRMs, a combined MEC-FE model is presented. A table of reluctance as function of flux and rotor position is obtained from a reduced FE model which contains a part of the ...

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1968
The possibilities of using magnetic, instead of electric, equivalent circuits for eddy-current devices, which have recently been pointed out by Laithwaite, are here explored further. Couplings between distributed flux paths and windings can be expressed in terms of a generalised linkage parameter N, which is associated with flux linkage in electric ...

Magnetic equivalent circuits for electrical machines
Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1967The concept of an equivalent magnetic circuit, analogous to an equivalent electric circuit, in which flux replaces current, m.m.f. replaces e.m.f. and reluctance replaces resistance, is well known and widely used, but the technique is generally restricted to the equivalent of d.c. electric circuits.

An Analytical Method Combining Equivalent Circuit and Magnetic Circuit for BDFRG
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2014This paper presents an analytical method that integrates the equivalent circuit (EC) and magnetic circuit (MC) in order to analyze and design a brushless doubly fed reluctance generator (BDFRG). The proposed method is capable of evaluating the BDFRG performance at the design stage because the terminal voltage can be predicted through the MC and the ...

Equivalent circuit of signal line with magnetic layer
Journal of Applied Physics, 1987A system of conductors having arbitrary permeability is analyzed through the generation of an inductance matrix that includes magnetic effects. This formulation, which makes use of both a magnetic scalar potential and preexisting inductance calculation algorithms based on vector potential, directly generates an equivalent circuit suitable for ...

Incorporating Motion in Mesh-Based Magnetic Equivalent Circuits
IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2010Recent research has compared the numerical efficiency of magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC) models based upon Kirchhoff's voltage law (mesh equations) and Kirchhoff's current law (nodal equations). For stationary magnetic components, it was shown that mesh-based methods converge in significantly fewer iterations.

Magnetic Equivalent Circuit for Surface-Mounted PM Motor
2018 IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems (PEDES), 2018Electric machine design optimisation requires tools that provide reliable information about machine parameters. Magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC) technique is selected here for predicting machine performance. MEC is developed for a fractional slot, permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM).

MAGNETIC EQUIVALENT CIRCUIT PRESENTATION OF ELECTRIC MACHINES
Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1987Abstract The fundamentals of the magnetic equivalent circuit concept are described. This principle is illustrated by several examples. The position of the method in modem theory and design of electric machines is defined and discussed.
