Optimal Construction for Decoding 2D Convolutional Codes over an Erasure Channel

open access: yesAxioms
In general, the problem of building optimal convolutional codes under a certain criteria is hard, especially when size field restrictions are applied.

Vat Photopolymerized HEMA/HEA Hydrogels for Solvent‐Responsive Transparency and Optical Encryption

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Vat‐photopolymerized HEMA/HEA hydrogels exhibit reversible transparency‐opacity switching via hydration‐induced microphase separation and solvent exchange. The printed materials enable hydration sensing, optical encryption, and information storage, while maintaining high ductility and reversible rheology.

How to Find Good Finite-Length Codes: From Art Towards Science

open access: yes, 2006
We explain how to optimize finite-length LDPC codes for transmission over the binary erasure channel. Our approach relies on an analytic approximation of the erasure probability.

Multilevel Optical Programming of Intrinsic Vacancies in Solution‐Processed MoS2 Films for Retinomorphic Color Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed MoS2 films with intrinsic sulfur‐vacancy traps are used to integrate light sensing and memory in a simple two‐terminal pixel. Successive optical pulses program persistent, multilevel conductance states, while oxygen exposure enables rapid erasure.

USP9X as a Candidate Mediator of Prenatal Aspirin‐Induced Ovarian Reserve Reduction in Offspring Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study suggests that prenatal aspirin exposure is associated with reduced ovarian reserve in offspring, associated with HDAC1‐linked epigenetic downregulation of Usp9x as a candidate mechanism. These preclinical findings provide new insights into fetal‐origin ovarian disorders and contribute to the evidence base concerning aspirin's gestational ...

Versatile CRISPR‐Cas Tools for Gene Regulation in Zebrafish via an Enhanced Q Binary System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces CRISPR‐Q, a transgenic CRISPR‐Cas system leveraging the QFvpr/QUAS binary expression platform in zebrafish. CRISPR‐Q overcomes previous challenges in achieving stable and efficient gene regulation. By enabling precise spatiotemporal control of transcript knockdown (CRISPR‐QKD) and gene activation (CRISPR‐Qa), it provides a ...

Logic‐Gated HSV‐TK/GCV Suicide Gene Circuit for Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The BRAS comprises two modular genetic components driven by distinct tumor‐specific promoters and a failsafe layer with the NOT gate. This multi‐input logic gate circuit enables precise, specific expression of HSV‐TK in breast cancer cells with hardly expression in normal cell and effectively inhibits tumor growth in a triple‐negative breast cancer ...

H∞ - Optimal Control over erasure channel

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2017
Abstract In this paper, the optimal H∞ control of a linear time invariant (LTI) networked control system (NCS) over a lossy network is analyzed. Specifically we consider a TCP-like data network where packet drops are modelled using a two-state Markov process. By employing the theory of dynamic games, a state-feedback H∞ controller is obtained.

Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

Source Coding for Erasure Channels

open access: yes, 2011
The main goal of this thesis is to bound the rate-distortion performance of the aforementioned sparse-graph codes for lossy compression of a BES. As our main contributions, we first derive lower bounds on the rate-distortion performance of LDGM codes for the BES, which are valid for any LDGM code of a given rate and generator node degree distribution ...
