Erasure Code-Based Low Storage Blockchain Node [PDF]

open access: yes2018 IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things (iThings) and IEEE Green Computing and Communications (GreenCom) and IEEE Cyber, Physical and Social Computing (CPSCom) and IEEE Smart Data (SmartData), 2018
The concept of a decentralized ledger usually implies that each node of a blockchain network stores the entire blockchain. However, in the case of popular blockchains, which each weigh several hundreds of GB, the large amount of data to be stored can incite new or low-capacity nodes to run lightweight clients.

Two‐Dimensional Reconfigurable Photodiode for In‐Sensor Color Filtering and Spectral Logic

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
By harnessing the photodoping of different aggregates, the device exhibits wavelength‐dependent volatile‐to‐nonvolatile photoresponses that can be reconfigured via bias modulation. This enables in‐sensor color filtering and spectral‐encrypted information processing, eliminating reliance on external optical filters or post‐processing algorithms ...

Inter-block 4-erasure-correcting coding scheme for real-time bulk data transfer

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2012
Most of the existing erasure-correcting codes were limited by encoding/decoding complexities and encoded data size. They were not suitable for use in the real-time applications that orient bulk data based on blocks or packages. Therefore,a novel inter ...

Near-Optimal Covariant Quantum Error-Correcting Codes from Random Unitaries with Symmetries

open access: yesPRX Quantum, 2022
Quantum error correction and symmetries play central roles in quantum information science and physics. It is known that quantum error-correcting codes that obey (are covariant with respect to) continuous symmetries in a certain sense cannot correct ...

RS + LDPC-Staircase Codes for the Erasure Channel: Standards, Usage and Performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Application-Level Forward Erasure Correction (AL-FEC) codes are a key element of telecommunication systems. They are used to recover from packet losses when retransmission are not feasible and to optimize the large scale distribution of contents. In this

Analog coding of a source with erasures [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2016
Analog coding decouples the tasks of protecting against erasures and noise. For erasure correction, it creates an "analog redundancy" by means of band-limited discrete Fourier transform (DFT) interpolation, or more generally, by an over-complete expansion based on a frame.

Non‐Continuous Iridescent Variable Structural Color Based on Metallic Surface Periodic Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study presents an ink‐free laser nanofabrication technique that generates periodic arched microstructures on titanium surfaces, achieving non‐continuous iridescent dual‐color switching. The ridge and side flanks of these structures possess distinct oxide film thicknesses, enabling angle‐dependent selective reflection of specific wavelengths.

Optimistic Erasure-Coded Distributed Storage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We study erasure-coded atomic register implementations in an asynchronous crash-recovery model. Erasure coding provides a cheap and space-efficient way to tolerate failures in a distributed system. This paper presents ORCAS, Optimistic eRasure-Coded Atomic Storage, which consists of two separate implementations, ORCAS-A and ORCAS-B. In terms of storage

Multilevel Optical Programming of Intrinsic Vacancies in Solution‐Processed MoS2 Films for Retinomorphic Color Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed MoS2 films with intrinsic sulfur‐vacancy traps are used to integrate light sensing and memory in a simple two‐terminal pixel. Successive optical pulses program persistent, multilevel conductance states, while oxygen exposure enables rapid erasure.

TRMT6‐Mediated m1A Modification of CDK9 mRNA Is a Dual‐Pronged Pathogenic Driver for HBV‐Related Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TRMT6‐mediated m1A modification in CDK9 mRNA enhances its mRNA stability and translation efficiency, thereby increasing the protein levels of CDK9. Upregulated CDK9 promotes the progression of HCC by elevating the levels of oncogenic factors including p‐STAT3, MCL1, and BCL‐2. On the other hand, CDK9 phosphorylates TARDBP at Ser254 to activate HBV core
