Ergasilus (Copepoda: Cyclopoida) Infestation of Coho and Chinook Salmon in Lake Michigan
Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 1976Abstract Parasitic copepods were found on 1.6% of coho salmon, Oncorhynchus kisutch, 8.8% of chinook salmon, Oncorhynchus tshawytscha, and 15.8% of yellow perch, Perca flavescens, from Lake Michigan. Ergasilus luciopercarum Henderson parasitized chinook salmon and yellow perch, while Ergasilus nerkae Roberts was observed only on coho salmon.

A new species of Ergasilus is described and illustrated from the gills of juvenile (c. 70 mm total length) Siganus guttatus raared in a Philippine fish farm. Of 15 fish examined, all were infested and nine had concurrent lymphocystis infections.

Ergasilus megaceros (Copepoda: Ergasilidae) was recovered from the nasal fossae (lamellae) of the olfactory sac in 1 (1.8%) of 56 sea lampreys, Petromyzon marinus Linne, 1758, collected in May 2002 from the Cheboygan River, Michigan. Although the sea lamprey is a new host record for E. megaceros, this fish species may not be a preferred host because of

Abstract A study conducted from August to October 2013 surveyed Threespine Sticklebacks Gasterosteus aculeatus (n = 822) for the presence of parasitic copepods in the vicinity of large sea-cage salmonid farms in Bay d'Espoir, Newfoundland. The majority of parasitic copepods surveyed were Ergasilus labracis (n = 4,684).

The Journal of Parasitology, 1969Ergasilus cerastes sp. n. is described from specimens collected in a fish market in Washington, D. C. The specimens are conspecific with those reported by Mueller (1936) as Ergasilus elegans from Florida Ictalurus spp. Wilson (1911) described Ergasilus versicolor from Ictalurus natalis, and he apparently based his description on specimens belonging to ...
