Increased erosion rates due to uplift and glacial erosion [PDF]
Around the world, geologists have found overwhelming evidence that starting about 5 million years ago, erosion rates began to increase. Geoscientists, puzzled about the cause of this increase, are specifically debating whether it is due to climate change or an increase in rock uplift as the Earth's topography evolved.

Effect of Atomic Oxygen on Electric Properties of Graphene Films
The resistance and the surface morphology of the graphene films were studied after atomic oxygen exposure. The graphene films can be etched away during atomic oxygen exposure, the resistance of graphene films decreases at first and then increases.

An Assessment of Streambank Erosion Rates in Iowa
Streambank erosion is a major contributor to watershed suspended sediments and phosphorus exports in many regions, but in Iowa and other midwestern states, the load contribution from streambanks is not considered by state nutrient reduction strategies. The study’s objectives were to evaluate the annual bank erosion rates measured in Iowa using erosion ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
