Active EoE is associated with more and deeper epithelial eosinophil, mast cell, and T cell infiltration; inactive EoE resembles controls. During remission, PPI treatment leaves more tissue resident CD3+ T‐cells than TS. In active EoE, TH2 cells, IL‐10hi Tregs, and CD8+ cytotoxic T cells are enriched, while TH17 cells are relatively depleted.

In this Phase 1 study, linaprazan glurate (LG) demonstrated rapid onset of intragastric acid suppression, achieving a pH > 4 within 10 to 60 min, and maintained pH control, with a 24‐h pH > 4 holding time ratio above 95% at 50 mg and 75 mg twice‐daily doses. AUC and Cmax of linaprazan, the main metabolite of LG, increased in proportion to LG dose.

In this randomized, double‐blind trial in Mexican adults with erosive oesophagitis, tegoprazan did not significantly improve the primary 4‐week ITT healing endpoint versus pantoprazole (88.9% vs. 79.4%; p = 0.33), but produced faster symptom improvement. Mechanisms underpinning the progression of nondysplastic Barrett's oesophagus to cancer
Barrett's oesophagus confers a low but significant cancer risk. The condition is common but we do not have effective biomarkers to identify susceptible patients. We believe that there is no single factor that determines cancer risk and an understanding of the combinations of interactions (via gene expression and natural selection) between the Barrett's
