Effect of caudal shift of floating kidney on changes of ERPF in orthostasis.
Periodicum biologorum. Supplement, 1989Dynamic scintigraphy of kidney with J131 hipurane was used to asses the effective kidney plasmatic flow(ERPF) and the separate kidney function(RPF) in horizontal and in orthostatic position for 591 patients. Patients were categorized in 5 groups according to the extent of caudal shift of floating kidney.

The plasma clearance of [131I]o-iodohippurate, which is an estimate of effective renal plasma flow, can be measured from one or two blood samples drawn after an i.v. bolus of tracer. The most widely used method is based on a single sample. Here, it is shown that the error (relative to a complete curve of six or more blood samples) can be halved by ...

The objective of this study was to determine if a correlation exists between the effective renal plasma flow (ERPF) and the extraction fraction (EF) using 99mTc MAG3 in children. This EF has been previously described with 9mTc DTPA. However, the renal imaging agent of choice has become 9mTc MAG3.The study was approved by The Children's Hospital of ...

The effective renal plasma flow (ERPF) of patients with renal-urinary disorders were estimated employing 99mTc-mercaptoacetyltriglycine (99mTc-MAG3) and a newly-developed clearance method which needs no blood sampling and is based on two-compartment fitting of the cardiac time-activity curves. In comparison with 123I-ortho-iodohippurate (123I-OIH) (n =

The Authors report their experience regarding the use of radioisotopes (Hypasults obtained in 40 healthy subjects confirm the reliability of the separate tests. Limitation and value of plasmatic and urinary clearances are briefly discussed. As the methods are simple, reproducible and unharmful for the patient, the Authors suggest an increasing ...
