Intermediate error estimates

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 1994
Let \(R[f]\) be the remainder of some linear approximation method (e.g. polynomial or spline approximation, numerical integration or differentiation), having estimates of the form \(| R[f ]|\leq \rho_ i\| f^{(i)} \|_{L^ p[a,b]}\), \(i=m,\dots, r\), for some \(m\) and \(r\) with \(0\leq m\leq r-1\). In many cases, \(\rho_ m\) and \(\rho_ r\), are known,

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Finite Element Approximation of Variational Inequalities: An Algorithmic Approach

open access: yesSultan Qaboos University Journal for Science, 2018
In this paper, we introduce a new method to analyze the convergence of the standard finite element method for elliptic variational inequalities with noncoercive operators (VI).

On a posteriori error estimates [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1977
Consider a sequence { x n } n = 0 ∞ \{ {x_n}\} _{n = 0}^\infty in a normed space X converging to some x ∗ ∈ X ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Time discretization of an abstract problem from linearized equations of a coupled sound and heat flow

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2020
Recently, a time discretization of simultaneous abstract evolution equations applied to parabolic-hyperbolic phase-field systems has been studied. This article focuses on a time discretization of an abstract problem that has application to linearized

Estimating the variance in coordinate measuring for binary orbit

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2015
The variance of a purely random error - “pure error” - in measuring the relative coordinates during the calculation of the orbits of binary stars, (its "unbiased estimate"), is necessary for each test used in the orbit calculation for double stars, such ...
