Error Field Tolerance and Error Field Correction Strategies and Their Applicability to ITER
Fusion Science and Technology, 2011AbstractTokamak plasmas can be sensitive to external non-axisymmetric magnetic perturbations that are several orders of magnitude smaller than the axisymmetric field. These perturbations, which are usually undesired and are referred to as error fields, can limit operation by braking the plasma rotation until an instability such as a tearing mode, a ...

Error Fields’ Computation in the RFX-mod2 Reversed Field Pinch
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2021The aim of this article is to describe and model a sawtooth crash in RFX-mod2 and compute the eddy currents induced in the stabilizing shell surrounding the plasma for two alternative gap concepts and the subsequent error field. The sawtooth crash displacement of the plasma column is represented by a vacuum model coupled with a suitable magneto-quasi ...

Modeling for field-to-field overlay error
SPIE Proceedings, 2012The tightening of overlay budgets forces us to revisit the characterization and control of exposure tools to eliminate remaining systematic errors. Even though field-to-field overlay has been a known characterization and control technique for quite some time, there is still room to further explore and exploit the technique.

Abstract The level of field errors in a free electron laser (FEL) is an important determinant of its performance. We have computed 3D performance of a large laser subsystem subjected to field errors of various types. These calculations have been guided by simple models such as SWOOP.

2024 10th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)
This work reports on error field identification and control studies carried out at the Joint European Torus (JET). To identify the n=1 error field source, the novel compass scan method, designed and tested in the DIII-D device (Paz-Soldan C. et al, Nuclear Fusion 62 (2022) 126007), has been applied at JET.

Errors in Age Determination of Mouflon in the Field
Wildlife Society Bulletin, 2006In mouflon (Ovis gmelini musimon X Ovis sp.) populations, most age-related ecological studies have used morphological characteristics to determine age categories in the field although the validity of this approach remains largely untested. We estimated error rates in age determination from observations of known-age mouflon in southern France.

Haptic error fields for robotic training
2015 IEEE World Haptics Conference (WHC), 2015Error feedback is critical for supporting motor adaptation in rehabilitation, sports, piloting, and skilled manual tasks. Error augmentation interventions, in which participants' errors are amplified with either visual or haptic feedback during training has shown success over repetitive practice.

Errors in wedged field isodose distributions
Medical Physics, 1986A combination of wedged field and beam rotation can result in treatment planning errors. A simple formula is given which describes this effect.
