Estimation error probability projection-based stereology.

open access: yes, 2021
A. Estimation error is distributed according to the shown probability densities (axon classes in columns; red, green, and blue for XY, XZ, and YZ planes respectively). The probability of getting a certain error during axon length estimation will be given

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Probability of Erroneous Actions by NPP Operating Personnel: The Role of Duration and Intensity of Workload

open access: yesВестник Московского университета. Серия 14: Психология
Background. To substantiate the reliability assessment of the operating personnel at a nuclear power plant (NPP) under conditions of increasing load, it is necessary to specify the existing general patterns of the functional state dynamics depending on ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Error Probabilities for Halfspace Depth

open access: yesCoRR, 2016
Data depth functions are a generalization of one-dimensional order statistics and medians to real spaces of dimension greater than one; in particular, a data depth function quantifies the centrality of a point with respect to a data set or a probability distribution. One of the most commonly studied data depth functions is halfspace depth.

On the Symbol Error Probability of Regular Polytopes [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2011
An exact expression for the symbol error probability of the four-dimensional 24-cell in Gaussian noise is derived. Corresponding expressions for other regular convex polytopes are summarized. Numerically stable versions of these error probabilities are also obtained.

Consistent estimation in an implicit quadratic measurement error model

open access: yes, 2004
An adjusted least squares estimator is derived that yields a consistent estimate of the parameters of an implicit quadratic measurement error model. In addition, a consistent estimator for the measurement error noise variance is proposed.

An error bound analysis for M-DPSK in frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel with diversity reception [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
A theoretical upper bound is presented to calculate the error probability for raised cosine filtered M-ary differential phase-shift keying (RC M-DPSK) in frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channels.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
