Empirical Strategies to Eliminate Life-Cycle Bias in the Intergenerational Elasticity of Earnings Literature [PDF]
I argue that the empirical strategies for estimation of the intergenerational elasticity of lifetime earnings that are currently employed in the literature might not eliminate bias arising from life-cycle effects.

Effects of errors-in-variables on the internal and external reliability measures
The reliability theory has been an important element of the classical geodetic adjustment theory and methods in the linear Gauss-Markov model. Although errors-in-variables (EIV) models have been intensively investigated, little has been done about ...

Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Instrumental Variable Estimation of Nonlinear Errors-in-Variables Models [PDF]
In linear specifications, the bias due to the presence of measurement error in a regressor can be entirely avoided when either repeated measurements or instruments are available for the mismeasured regressor.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Non-Parametric Tests for Firm Efficiency in Case of Errors-in-Variables [PDF]
This paper develops a novel statistic for firm efficiency called efficiency depth thatallows for statistical inference in case of errors-in-variables.

Deconvolution Estimation in Measurement Error Models: The R Package decon
Data from many scientific areas often come with measurement error. Density or distribution function estimation from contaminated data and nonparametric regression with errors in variables are two important topics in measurement error models.

CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Nonparametric identification and estimation of nonclassical errors-in-variables models without additional information [PDF]
This paper considers identification and estimation of a nonparametric regression model with an unobserved discrete covariate. The sample consists of a dependent variable and a set of covariates, one of which is discrete and arbitrarily correlates with ...
