Least Trimmed Squares Estimator in the Errors-in-Variables Model

open access: yes
We propose a robust estimator in the errors-in-variables model using the least trimmed squares estimator. We call this estimator the orthogonal least trimmed squares (OLTS) estimator.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Estimation in a linear multivariate measurement error model with a change point in the data

open access: yes, 2007
A linear multivariate measurement error model AX=B is considered. The errors in [A B] are row-wise finite dependent, and within each row, the errors may be correlated.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Primal-Dual Estimation of a Linear Expenditure Demand System

open access: yes
Efficient estimates require the utilization of all the available theoretical and statistical information. This fact suggests that econometric models based on an explicit optimization theory might achieve more efficient estimates when all the primal and ...

Using Latent Variables to Eliminate Multicollinearity Effect in A Logistic Regression on Risk Factors for Breast Cancer

open access: yesمجله اپیدمیولوژی ایران, 2006
Background and Objectives: Logistic regression is one of the most widely used generalized linear models for analysis of the relationships between one or more explanatory variables and a categorical response.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Decreased cold‐sensing function of the transient receptor potential channel TRPM8 from tailed amphibians

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Despite frogs avoiding low temperatures, examination of four salamander species revealed that none avoided cold and all possessed cold tolerance. Functional analysis of TRPM8, a cold sensor, showed that all salamander TRPM8s had lost their cold sensitivity.

Modeling error reduction and rework in construction activities using system dynamics method [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی و مدیریت ساخت
Errors and rework created in projects have been one of the most important causes of planning pressure and unsafe behaviors and then high accidents in construction workshops.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...
