Overview of the Clinical Manifestations of Borrelia burgdorferi Infection

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology, Volume 2, Issue 2, Page 61-63, 1991., 1991
Lyme disease, caused by the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi, has classically been divided into three stages: erythema migrans; neurological or cardiac involvement; and arthritis. Rather than defining a set disease pattern, however, one should, more logically, conceptualize a progressive infection that may be localized or disseminated, acute or chronic.

Some considerations on the protection against the health hazards associated with solar ultraviolet radiation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The present report briefly reviews the basic features of the current strategy for the protection against the health harms caused by solar ultraviolet (UV, 295 - 400 nm). The emphasis has been made upon the erythema as being the best-studied UV harm and the ability of UV irradiance to damage the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecules, which leads to ...

Approaches to the implementation of generalized complex numbers in the Julia language [PDF]

open access: yesin CEUR Workshop Proceedings, vol. 2639, 141-157 (2020), 2020
In problems of mathematical physics, to study the structures of spaces using the Cayley-Klein models in theoretical calculations, the use of generalized complex numbers is required. In the case of computational experiments, such tasks require their high-quality implementation in a programming language.

Optimizing Gastrointestinal Diagnostics: A CNN-Based Model for VCE Image Classification [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In recent years, the diagnosis of gastrointestinal (GI) diseases has advanced greatly with the advent of high-tech video capsule endoscopy (VCE) technology, which allows for non-invasive observation of the digestive system. The MisaHub Capsule Vision Challenge encourages the development of vendor-independent artificial intelligence models that can ...
