Utility and Safety of Romiplostim as an Alternative to Platelet Transfusion for Neonates

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 72, Issue 7, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Thrombocytopenia is a common challenge in the neonatal intensive care unit, traditionally managed with platelet transfusions. However, transfusions are associated with significant risks, including increased mortality and neurodevelopmental impairment.

Transcription Factor ETS-1 and Reactive Oxygen Species: Role in Vascular and Renal Injury

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2018
The E26 avian erythroblastosis virus transcription factor-1 (ETS-1) is a member of the ETS family and regulates the expression of a variety of genes including growth factors, chemokines and adhesion molecules. Although ETS-1 was discovered as an oncogene,

Transcriptional Changes in Cumulus Cells During In Vitro Maturation of Human Oocytes

open access: yesMolecular Reproduction and Development, Volume 92, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT This study assessed transcriptional changes in human cumulus cells (CCs) during oocyte maturation In Vitro. CCs were collected from 25 cumulus‐oocyte complexes derived from surplus ovarian medulla tissue of eight women (mean age 29 years, range 19–36) undergoing ovarian tissue cryopreservation without ovarian stimulation.

Inflammation and Iron Profile in Children With Sickle Cell Disease in Cameroon: Frequency and Associated Factors, an Analytical Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Sickle Cell Disease is a chronic inflammatory disease that could be aggravated by exposure to variable factors such as infections, hemolysis, oxidative stress and so forth. that could preciptate variable acute or end‐organ manifestation. However, the degree of inflammation could vary in individuals.

Multi-stage Friend murine erythroleukemia: molecular insights into oncogenic cooperation

open access: yesRetrovirology, 2008
The Friend virus SFFV (Spleen Focus Forming Virus) provokes an acute erythroblastosis in susceptible strains of mice that progresses to overt erythroleukemia by a multi-step process.

A small molecule inhibitor of ETV1, YK-4-279, prevents prostate cancer growth and metastasis in a mouse xenograft model. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
The erythroblastosis virus E26 transforming sequences (ETS) family of transcription factors consists of a highly conserved group of genes that play important roles in cellular proliferation, differentiation, migration and invasion.

Comparison of intrauterine transfusion techniques in hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 65, Issue 5, Page 589-596, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Objectives Intrauterine transfusions (IUTs) are the cornerstone in treatment for hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN). It has been suggested that a non‐vascular intraperitoneal blood transfusion used in conjunction with an intravascular IUT can slow the decrease in fetal hemoglobin (Hb) levels, potentially extending the interval ...

Vertical transmission of avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) from hens infected through artificial insemination with ALV-J infected semen

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research, 2017
Background Avian leukosis virus (ALV) is one of the main causes of tumour development within the poultry industry in China. The subgroup J avian leukosis viruses (ALV-J), which induce erythroblastosis and myelocytomatosis, have the greatest pathogenicity

Immune‐related adverse event detection in liver cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors: Nationwide exploratory survey in Japan

open access: yesHepatology Research, Volume 55, Issue 4, Page 547-555, April 2025.
This study surveyed 112 hospitals in Japan to assess the incidence of immune‐related adverse events (irAEs) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) receiving treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors. The survey revealed that, on average, 20 HCC cases were treated annually per facility.
