Loss of SOCS1 in Donor T Cells Exacerbates Intestinal GVHD by Driving a Chemokine‐Dependent Pro‐Inflammatory Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
T cell‐specific Socs1 knockout leads to inflammatory differentiation of CD8+ T cells, prompting the STAT1/2 complex to drive the activation of Ccl5, Ccr5, and Cxcr3, and promoting the skewing of monocytes toward a pro‐inflammatory M1 macrophage lineage.

Erythrocyte Aggregation in Athletes

Human Physiology, 2003
Erythrocyte aggregation (examined microscopically in diluted blood), lipid and protein plasma profiles, and fibrinolytic activity were studied in endurance athletes. Division of the athletes into two subgroups by cluster analysis showed that a higher level of fitness was associated with a lower plasminogen activity; enhanced fibrinolysis; increased ...

Determination of erythrocyte aggregation

Mathematical Biosciences, 1999
One of the most common health criteria--erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)--is considered in the paper. It is shown that the simple model presented, based on the generalized Stokes formula, the blood volume conservation law, and the Smoluchowski theory of particles coagulation, makes it possible, on the basis of experimentally recorded sedimentation ...

Kinetic Model for Erythrocyte Aggregation

Blood Cells, Molecules, and Diseases, 1999
It is well known that light transmission through blood is the most widely utilized method for the study of erythrocyte aggregation. The curves obtained had been considered empirically as exponential functions. In consequence, the process becomes characterized by an only parameter that varies with all the process factors without discrimination.
