Hyporesponsiveness to recombinant human erythropoietin [PDF]
The introduction of recombinant human erythropoietin (rh-Epo, epoetin) as a treatment for the anaemia of renal failure has transformed the management of this condition. Nevertheless, a significant number of patients fail to respond. There are many different possible causes of inadequate response to epoetin.

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

A Systematic Review on Disease‐Modifying Therapies in Parkinsonian Disorders
Parkinsonian disorders, including Parkinson's disease, Lewy body dementia, multiple system atrophy, and progressive supranuclear palsy, are progressive neurodegenerative conditions with no treatment options to slow disease progression. This systematic review provides an overview of evidence of disease‐modifying therapies that have been evaluated in ...

PHARMACOLOGICAL PRECONDITIONING BY RECOMBINANT ERYTHROPOIETIN AS THE POSSIBILITY OF INCREASING THE STABILITY OF TISSUE OF THE RETINA TO REPERFUSION ISCHEMIA IN EXPERIMENT [PDF]
Ischemic injury was formed in laboratory rats by applying mechanical pressure (110 mm Hg) to the anterior eye chamber for 30 minutes. The experiment revealed that the recombinant erythropoietin (50 IU/kg) prevents the development of degenerative changes ...

Comparison of Dried Blood Spot Sampling Methods for RNA‐Based Biomarker Measurement in Anti‐Doping
This study demonstrates that RNA‐based biomarkers of erythropoiesis, ALAS2 and CA1, can be reliably quantified across commonly used DBS sampling matrices, including venous and capillary blood spotted on cellulose cards and the Tasso‐M20 device. ABSTRACT Dried blood spot (DBS) sampling offers logistical advantages, but it remains unexplored whether ...
