From 'Fire Esca' to 'Esca of Grapevine'

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2006
The use of tinder (‘esca’ or ‘amadou’) prepared from basidiocarps of some bracket fungi, e.g. Fomes fomentarius and Phellinus igniarius as an easy-to-burn matter goes back to the man’s conquest of fire. Archaeological finds, such as fragments of tinder, flint-stones and traces of pyrite carried by the ‘Ice man’ on his way across the Alps more than 5 ...

Esca in Austria

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2006
Esca, known from Austria since it was reported by Zweigelt (1933), has increased in importance in the last ten years. Investigations on the incidence of esca were therefore undertaken to assess its impact on Austrian viticulture. A visual assessment of 14,000 vines showed that about 1.3 percent of plants exhibited external esca symptoms. This incidence

miR‐1301‐3p promotes invasion and migration and EMT progression in esophageal cancer by downregulating NBL1 expression

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, 2023
Background Esophageal cancer (ESCA) is one of the most aggressive and lethal human malignant cancers. MicroRNA‐1301‐3p (miR‐1301‐3p) plays vital roles in a majority of malignancies.

Hyperfine Interactions and ESCA Data [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica Scripta, 1975
A comparison is made of those data obtained from ESCA and from hyperfine interactions that bear on the same problems. A formal Hamiltonian can be written in which ESCA shifts and structure are discussed as E0, M1, E2,... terms. Under the E0 term core-level shifts are compared with isomer shifts and diamagnetic shifts.

POM‐Based Water Splitting Catalyst Under Acid Conditions Driven by Its Assembly on Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A newly‐engineered POM‐based electrocatalyst incorporating non‐innocent counter cations exhibits fast kinetics for either the OER or HER under strongly acidic conditions (1 m H2SO4), depending on whether it is assembled on carbon nanotubes (1@CNT) or physically mixed with them (1/CNT). In water‐splitting tests using a two‐electrode setup, these systems

Controlling Film Formation in Inkjet‐printed MAPbBr3 Through Graphene Incorporation for Enhanced Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work highlights the impact of incorporating graphene nanoflakes into precursor inks of MAPbBr3 for inkjet‐printed optoelectronic device applications. A substantial modification of the crystallization dynamics is reported despite miniscule concentrations.
