Potassium hydroxide activation of microalgal biochar for improved adsorption efficiency

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Activated carbon was prepared from Chlorella by carbonization and potassium hydroxide activation, and its structural properties and methylene blue (MB) adsorption performance were evaluated. Raw Chlorella exhibited an adsorption capacity of 287.2 mg g−1, which decreased to 214.8 mg g−1 after carbonization.

Constructing Enzyme‐Inspired Multisite Synergistic Catalyst for Promoting CO2 Electroreduction to Ethylene at pH Universal Condition

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A rational synthesis strategy was developed to construct enzyme‐inspired Cu‐AM catalysts with well‐defined multisite architectures. This catalytic system enables highly selective electrochemical CO2 reduction to C2H4 under pH‐universal conditions, delivering exceptional Faradaic efficiencies across acidic, neutral, and alkaline electrolytes.

A Serum lncRNA Signature Determines Oncogenic YAP Activity in Cancer Patients

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) signatures are promising cancer biomarkers, since their dysregulation in tumors is reflected in body fluids. In this study, next‐generation sequencing, bioinformatics, and gene expression data were combined to investigate an lncRNA signature linked specifically to the cancer‐promoting YAP in several cancer types ...

WDR72 Drives Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Progression by Inhibiting Autophagy via the PI3K/Akt/mTOR Pathway

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is an aggressive malignancy with a high rate of recurrence and metastasis, necessitating the identification of novel therapeutic targets. WD repeat‐containing protein 72 (WDR72) has been linked to various cancers, but its specific biological function and underlying mechanism in ESCC remain largely ...
