Esca measurements on iron tricarbonyl complexes of some organosulfur compounds

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1976
Abstract The ESCA spectra of some iron tricarbonyl complexes of thiophene and dihydrothiophene derivatives are reported, assigned, and interpreted in thelight ...

ESCA Studies of Metal Complexes

Applied Spectroscopy Reviews, 1986
Abstract Photoelectron spectroscopy has found wide application in the study of many inorganic systems. An excellent review titled “Applications of XPS to Inorganic Chemistry,” written by Jolly, was published in 1974 [1]. Although a large number of publications have appeared since then, it is felt that another review would be of use.

An experimental ESCA investigation of some copper complexes involving CO

Inorganica Chimica Acta, 1984
Abstract An ESCA investigation of 7 copper carbonyl complexes is presented to complement a previous theoretical study. The spectra reveal that the copper is essentially in a +1 oxidation state, although for dinuclear complexes there is evidence for slightly lower than a d 10 electron population on the copper.

Esca, mössbauer and infrared spectroscopic investigations of a series of tin complexes

Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, 1986
Abstract Core electron binding shifts have been measured for a series of tin complexes. From earlier proposed relations between binding energies, infrared intensities and the charge on the ligands we have estimated the effective charge on the tin atom. Also the isomer shifts of the central atom have been measured.

TG-FTIR, DSC and ESCA characterization of histamine complexes with transition metal ions

Thermochimica Acta, 1997
Abstract The thermoanalytical study of some MeHm x complexes (Hm = histamine; x = 1, 2) and MeHm x (NO 3 ) 2 ( x = 2, 4) with Co (II) , Ni (II) and Cu (II) is reported. By TG-FTIR coupled analysis, the decomposition steps are analyzed and the intermediate reactions are proposed.

ESCA Studies of Ion Complexes Between a Crown-ether and Alkali Halides

Physica Scripta, 1977
ESCA has been used to study the complexation of the alkali cations Na+, K+ and Rb+ by the crown-ether, dibenzo-18-crown-6. The binding energies of cations as well as the counter ions (Cl-, Br- and I-), oxygens and carbons have been measured. The results reveal strong backbonding effects.

Electrical resistivity and ESCA studies on neutral poly(alkylbenzimidazoles), their salts, and complexes

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1979
AbstractA series of metal and acid salts having poly(alkylbenzimidazoles) as the parent ligand were synthesized. The room‐temperature electrical resistivity of the parent and the salts was measured. Values for the dc electrical resistivity varied from ∼1 × 1013 ohm.cm for the neutral polymers to ∼1 × 106 ohm·cm for the acid conjugate formed by reaction

An ESCA study on the structure of sulphur-nitrogen chelating agents and their metal complexes

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular Spectroscopy, 1982
Abstract The ESCA spectra of eight 1:1 and 1:2 transition metal complexes and three hydrochloric salts of ligands containing amine and thioether donor sites were measured. Fine structure in the C 1 s peaks is discussed in comparison with 13 C NMR data and estimated partial atomic charges.

"Polywater": Evidence from Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis (ESCA) of a Complex Salt Mixture

Science, 1971
The ESCA spectra of "polywater" show that this anomalous, high-density, viscous, nonvolatile material contains high concentrations of sodium, potassium, sulfate, chloride, nitrate, borates, silicates, and carbon-oxygen compounds with trace amounts of other impurities but very little water.

Phytoalexyns dinamic in GLSD affected grapevines (Esca Complex)

2015
Grapevine leaf stripe disease (GLSD), a disease of grapevine within the esca complex, is the cause of reduction in the production and longevity of vineyards. The relationship between the development of the leaves symptoms - a typical interveinal necrosis with a yellow or red margin - and the production and accumulation of phytoalexins like stilbenic ...
