Understanding the control strategies effective against the esca leaf stripe symptom: the edge hypothesis

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2022
A peculiar symptom that may develop in grapevines affected by wood pathogens involved in the esca complex of diseases is the leaf stripe symptom, which also gives the name to the Grapevine Leaf Stripe Disease.

FOXP1 Knockdown Reprograms Th9 CAR‐T Cells to Overcome Antigen Escape

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FOXP1 knockdown enhances Th9 CAR‐T cell function by promoting IL‐9 production, effector activation, and reduced exhaustion. Reprogrammed Th9 CAR‐T cells strengthen direct tumor killing and activate endogenous antitumor immunity through dendritic cells and CD8+ T cells, thereby suppressing both antigen‐positive and antigen‐loss tumor growth and ...

Modification and characterisation by ESCA, of starch and related polymers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Starch was isolated from soft wheat cultivar (Galahad), by wet fractionation. Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis (ESCA) was used to examine the surface composition of native and chlorine treated starches, before and after secondary treatments ...

ESCA disease complex and measures to reduce infections on grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.)

open access: yes, 2021

Foliar Applications of Calcium, Magnesium, and Seaweed Mixture to Mitigate Chronic and Apoplectic Forms of Esca Disease and Improve Yield in Vineyards

open access: yesAgronomy
Esca disease, the most widespread grapevine trunk disease in Europe, is characterized by both chronic and acute forms. In both cases, alterations in the plant’s physiological processes are significant and lead to yield losses and/or plant death.

Preliminary Studies on the In Vitro Interactions Between the Secondary Metabolites Produced by Esca-Associated Fungi and Enological Saccharomyces cerevisiae Strains

open access: yesPlants, 2022
Esca-affected vines alter the carbohydrate metabolism, xylem transport of water and photosynthesis and show regular grapes (but berries do not reach maturity), and phenolic compounds are reduced in concentration, oxidate and polymerizate.

Hybrid Metal–Organic Framework‐Derived Dual Active Site Catalysts Enabling Surface‐Enriched Cathode and Modified Zinc Anode for Long‐Life Zinc–Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the implementation of MOF‐assisted anode and cathode materials for prolonged cycling of zinc‐air batteries with strong redox capability and structural stability. ABSTRACT The surface modification of zinc anodes and the development of effective cathode dual‐functional oxygen electrocatalysts remain of paramount interest for ...

WDR72 Drives Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Progression by Inhibiting Autophagy via the PI3K/Akt/mTOR Pathway

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is an aggressive malignancy with a high rate of recurrence and metastasis, necessitating the identification of novel therapeutic targets. WD repeat‐containing protein 72 (WDR72) has been linked to various cancers, but its specific biological function and underlying mechanism in ESCC remain largely ...

Identification and Validation of Immune Implication of R-Spondin 1 and an R-Spondin 1-Related Prognostic Signature in Esophagus Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics
R-spondin 1 (RSPO1), which encodes a secretory-activating protein, is a promising therapeutic target for various tumors. The aim of this study was to establish a robust RSPO1-related signature specific to esophageal cancer (ESCA). Our comprehensive study
