Escala de percepció de l’esforç i activació muscular en exercicis d’estabilització del core

open access: yesApunts. Educació física i esports, 2015

Does any fish scale of a fish have the same number of marks? A case study for two Mugilidae species

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study evaluates the difference in growth marks in scales from nine body areas of two Mugilidae species from the Gulf of Mexico: Mugil curema and Mugil cephalus. It addresses whether the different body areas show more (or fewer) marks, and which area(s) would be more useful in fish biology studies relying on mark analysis.

Subsistence hunting shapes the spatial variation of jaguar densities in community‐managed forests

open access: yesJournal of Zoology, EarlyView.
Jaguars and people can coexist in community‐managed forests, but distance matters. In Guatemala's Maya Biosphere Reserve, jaguar numbers increased markedly in areas harder to reach on foot, yet jaguars were still found near communities, showing that responsibly managed forests can support jaguar populations while allowing people to maintain traditional

Spatial and temporal variations of meiofaunal communities from the western sector of the Gulf of Batabanó, Cuba: II. Seagrass systems

open access: yesRevista de Biología Tropical, 2008
The meiofauna from seagrass meadows in the western sector of the Gulf of Batabanó, Cuba were studied to describe the spatial and temporal variations in community structure. Replicated cores were taken in three locations (arranged in m- and km-scales) and

Massive binary black holes in galactic nuclei and their path to coalescence

open access: yes, 2014
Massive binary black holes form at the centre of galaxies that experience a merger episode. They are expected to coalesce into a larger black hole, following the emission of gravitational waves. Coalescing massive binary black holes are among the loudest

Seeing herbaria in a new light: leaf reflectance spectroscopy unlocks trait and classification modeling in plant biodiversity collections

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Reflectance spectroscopy is a rapid method for estimating traits and discriminating species. Spectral libraries from herbarium specimens represent an untapped resource for generating broad phenomic datasets across space, time, and taxa. We conducted a proof‐of‐concept study using trait data and spectra from herbarium specimens up to 179 yr old,

Four seasons, please! A pintura e o apagamento do mundo (#2)

Tree stem methane emissions are regulated by site‐level biogeochemistry over species identity in Amazon floodplain forests

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Tree stems in Amazonian floodplains emit substantial methane (CH4), yet controls on emission variability remain unclear. Emissions span orders of magnitude between várzea (nutrient‐rich) and igapó (nutrient‐poor) forests and among trees, suggesting controls beyond flooding.

Higher Trophic Status Leads to More Diverse and Divergent Microeukaryote Communities Over Time in Urban Lakes From the Greater Paris (France)

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
Microeukaryote dynamics across a eutrophication gradient in Greater Paris region lakes showed richness peaking at intermediate trophic levels and communities becoming more modular, variable, and less connected with higher trophic status compared to oligo‐to‐mesotrophic lakes.
