Journal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 5, May 2026.Our findings demonstrate that providing sugar sources reliably supports parasitoid populations and parasitism rate but does not systematically translate into improved pest suppression or yield gains. These results suggest that, for economic and practical reasons, sugar inputs at the edge of cultivated fields should be favoured.

This highlights the role of habitat amount at the landscape level over patch‐level features, like patch size, for seed dispersal. However, increased seed density can be related to higher dispersal rates in forest borders.
