Efficient Self‐Cleaning and Anti‐Bacterial Behavior Realized by Hierarchical Structure in Hybrid Waterborne Polyurethane Coatings Containing Photocatalyst

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Hybrid WPU coatings with a hierarchical structure are constructed by first directional freezing polymerization of degradable hydrogels with a vertical channel structure and then filling these channels with aqueous WPU solution containing carbon nitride (g‐C3N4) nanosheets.

Enhanced Infection Resistance and Regenerative Healing of Titanium Implants via Peptide‐Loaded Biodegradable Coatings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a new biodegradable coating for titanium implants using a natural antimicrobial peptide, caerin 1.9. Applied via solvent casting, the coating offers sustained antibacterial protection and promotes healing. Tested on 3D‐printed porous titanium scaffolds, it effectively prevented infection—including against resistant bacteria—while ...

Evolvability of Chaperonin Substrate Proteins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Molecular chaperones ensure that their substrate proteins reach the functional native state, and prevent their aggregation. Recently, an additional function was proposed for molecular chaperones: they serve as buffers (_capacitors_) for evolution by ...

Dual‐Functional Ingestible Passive Capsules for High‐Throughput Intestinal Sampling with Sealed Containment and Targeted Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
To address challenges in high‐throughput intestinal sampling with sealed containment and target drug delivery, we developed a dual‐functional ingestible passive capsule with a dual‐triggered control system based on pH‐response and mechanical actuation.

Chronic Hypoxia Disrupts Spermatogenesis Through ASXL2–EZH2–Mediated Microtubule Destabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals the mechanism by which chronic hypoxia impairs spermatogenesis via the ASXL2–EZH2 axis, hindering the transition of spermatids from round to elongated forms. Key findings reveal that under hypoxic conditions, downregulated ASXL2 expression reduces EZH2 binding to the CEP162 promoter, leading to decreased H3K27me3 modification and ...

Tailoring Vascular‐Immune Homeostasis via Manganese‐DNA Complex‐Armed Immunogenic Extracellular Vesicles for Pancreatic Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that Mn2⁺–tumor DNA complexes encapsulated in dendritic cell (DC)– derived immunogenic extracellular vesicles (EVDC@Mn‐DNA) act as a DC‐specific cGAS– STING activator. EVDC@Mn‐DNA treatment enhances intratumoral DC activation, improves tumor vascular function, promotes CD8⁺ T cell activity, and suppresses pancreatic tumor growth,

Detection of Protein–Protein Interactions in Escherichia coli With Single Molecule Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article describes a regulatory circuit in Escherichia coli able to detect protein–protein interactions with exquisite sensitivity. The interaction between two hybrid proteins fused to Bordetella pertussis adenylate cyclase and its activator calmodulin triggers a potent cyclic AMP signaling cascade.
