Vocal Phenology of Forest Tinamous Along a Latitudinal Gradient: Effects of Daylength and Precipitation. [PDF]
Ecol EvolBased on an analysis of eBird records, this study finds that the vocal patterns of tropical forest tinamous are primarily influenced by changes in daylength, with a secondary effect of precipitation. Birds sang more when days were longer or shorter than 12 h and during drier periods, especially in wetter regions.
