Unusual Metastases of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 2021
Abstract Colonic or peritoneal metastasis from esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is extremely rare. We present the case of a 68-year-old man with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma who received concurrent chemoradiation therapy. The follow-up whole-body 18F-FDG PET/CT was performed 6 months after initial chemotherapy and showed new lesions ...

Genetic landscape of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Nature Genetics, 2014
Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the deadliest cancers. We performed exome sequencing on 113 tumor-normal pairs, yielding a mean of 82 non-silent mutations per tumor, and 8 cell lines. The mutational profile of ESCC closely resembles those of squamous cell carcinomas of other tissues but differs from that of esophageal adenocarcinoma.

Genetic background of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Orvosi Hetilap, 2007
A nyelőcsőrák a kilencedik leggyakoribb rosszindulatú daganat. Több mint 90%-ban előrehaladott állapotban kerül felismerésre. A sebészi beavatkozás, a kemo-, illetve radioterápia lehetőségei korlátozottak. Napjainkban a génterápia került az érdeklődés előterébe.

ENDOCYTOSCOPIC OBSERVATION OF ESOPHAGEAL SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA

Digestive Endoscopy, 2009
The endocytoscopy system (ECS), adapted for clinical use in 2003, is an ultra‐high‐power magnifying endoscope that allows observations at the cell level. ECS is based on the technology of light‐contact microscopy. The most evident use of ECS is for real‐time, high‐resolution diagnosis of nuclear abnormalities, mainly in patients with esophageal cancer.

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: Pathology and prognosis

World Journal of Surgery, 1994
AbstractBetween 1985 and 1992 a total of 403 patients with resected thoracic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma were evaluated histopathologically, and various pathologic findings related to survival were examined. Concerning depth of tumor invasion, 8 (2%) cases were pTis, 110 (27%) were pT1, 48 (12%) were pT2, 202 (50%) were pT3, and 35 (9%) were pT4.

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma after liver transplantation

Clinical and Translational Oncology, 2005
The occurrence of an oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma following liver transplantation is very infrequent. Such an event has been related to a history of alcohol-induced cirrhosis, as in other squamous cell tumours of the oropharynx. We report the case of a 64-year-old male patient diagnosed as having oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma six years ...
