Study of the synergistic effect of sodium citrate and phosphates on the colloidal stability of skim milk under controlled severe heat treatment conditions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dairy Technology, Volume 79, Issue 2, April–June 2026.
This study evaluates the combined effects of citrate and sodium mono‐, di‐ and triphosphates on the colloidal and thermal stability of skim milk, using physicochemical parameters. The results show that specific combinations of chelating salts increase milk resistance to heat‐induced coagulation, reduce the free calcium and maintain the micellar ...

Experimental and Computational Raman and SERS Study of Acid Blue 113

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 57, Issue 2, Page 239-254, February 2026.
The vibrational features of AB‐113 were investigated through experimental and theoretical analyses. SERS spectra showed enhanced responses under resonant excitation, especially at 532 and 632.8 nm, enabling identification limits as low as 1.0 × 10−8 mol L−1.

FUNDAMENTOS DE LA ESPECTROSCOPÍA RAMAN HETERODINA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
"A diferencia de la Espectroscopía tradicional, en la Espectroscopía Heterodina Espacial (SHS, por su iniciales en inglés de “Spatial Heterodyne Spectrometer”) las frecuencias espaciales de las franjas no son inversamente proporcionales a la longitud de ...

Enhancing the Cumulene Character of One‐Dimensional Acetylene‐Based Systems by Stimuli‐Induced Planarization of Their Two Pro‐diradicaloid Cyclopenta[h,i]aceanthrylene Units

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 7, February 10, 2025.
Connecting two pro‐diradicaloid species, namely cyclopenta[h,i]aceanthrylene, through an acetylene bridge has been shown to increase the cumulene character in one‐dimensional acetylene‐based conjugates. Spectroscopic analysis and calculations indicate significant π‐electronic delocalization during the low temperature‐promoted planarization of the ...

An arbuscular mycorrhiza from the 407‐million‐year‐old Windyfield Chert identified through advanced fluorescence and Raman imaging

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 249, Issue 1, Page 448-459, January 2026.
Summary Mycorrhizal associations between fungi and plants are a fundamental aspect of terrestrial ecosystems. Mycorrhizas occur in c. 85% of extant plants, yet their geological record remains sparse. Rare fossil evidence from early terrestrial environments offers crucial insights into these ancient symbioses, but visualizing fossil fungi at the ...

Assessing Thermal Maturity of the Pendência Formation (Potiguar Basin) Using Vitrinite Reflectance and Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 56, Issue 11, Page 1203-1214, November 2025.
Palynofacies assemblages from the onshore Potiguar Basin display a wide thermal maturity range, with vitrinite reflectance (%Ro) values of 0.46–2.72 measured from nine samples at depths of 1059–4443 m. A strong correlation exists between %Ro and Raman parameters, specifically the G‐band's full width at half maximum.

Flower-like and nanorods ZnO deposited on rGO as efficient photocatalysts for removal of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)

open access: yesNanocomposites, 2022
PCBs were used for several decades as coolants, lubricants in transformers, plasticizers, and dielectric fluids, being highly carcinogenic and representing a severe environmental problem in soil and water. Pure and modified TiO2 has been the most studied

Resonance Raman Effect in Copper Carbonate Minerals Azurite and Malachite

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 56, Issue 11, Page 1154-1161, November 2025.
This study employs Raman spectroscopy to examine the vibrational characteristics of azurite and malachite, specifically focusing on the stretching modes of the carbonate anion present in their structures. The results reveal a potential resonance Raman effect, characterized by an unexpected enhancement of the asymmetric stretching mode compared to the ...

PEG‐Free Nanoemulsions With Alkyl Polyglucoside and Baccharis dracunculifolia Essential Oil: Physicochemical Behavior, pH Dependence and Skin Repair Properties

open access: yesJournal of Surfactants and Detergents, Volume 28, Issue 5, Page 1191-1211, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Alkyl polyglucosides (APG) are biodegradable, non‐ionic surfactants from renewable sources with low ecotoxicity. This study developed a novel PEG‐free nanoemulsion (NE) using APG to encapsulate Baccharis dracunculifolia essential oil (BDO) for skin repair.
