STIMATE‐Mustn1 Fusion Protein Prevents Ca2+ Overload in Cells That Present Increased SOCE

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 4, 28 February 2026.
STIMATE‐mustn1 fused protein expression downregulates Thr‐evoked Ca2+ entry in neonatal platelets. Meanwhile, maternal platelets express the canonical STIMATE, which promotes the Thr‐dependent Ca2+ entry. Impaired Ca2+ entry in neonatal platelets may contribute to the alteration in platelet aggregation found in these subjects. ER, endoplasmic reticulum.
