The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

A Linear Composition Operator on the Bloch Space

open access: yesMathematics
Let n∈N0, ψ be an analytic self-map on D and u be an analytic function on D. The single operator Du,ψn acting on various spaces of analytic functions has been a subject of investigation for many years.

Norm and Essential Norm of an Integral-Type Operator from the Dirichlet Space to the Bloch-Type Space on the Unit Ball

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2010
Operator norm and essential norm of an integral-type operator, recently introduced by this author, from the Dirichlet space to the Bloch-type space on the unit ball in ℂ𝑛 are calculated here.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Essential Norm of Operators into Weighted-Type Spaces on the Unit Ball

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
The essential norm of any operator from a general Banach space of holomorphic functions on the unit ball in ℂn into the little weighted-type space is calculated. Some applications of the formula are given.

Weighted Composition Operators from Besov Zygmund-Type Spaces into Zygmund-Type Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2020
The boundedness, compactness, and essential norm of weighted composition operators from Besov Zygmund-type spaces into Zygmund-type spaces are investigated in this paper.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...
