Iodomethaneboronic esters and aminomethaneboronic esters
Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1979Abstract An efficient preparation of pinacol iodomethaneboronate and dibutyl iodomethaneboronate from the respective (phenylthio)methaneboronic esters has been devised, using the reaction with methyl iodide. Pinacol iodomethaneboronate reacts efficiently wit tertiary amines to form the crystalline quaternary ammonium salts.

Mesomorphism of azo-esters and chalcone-esters
Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 2016ABSTRACTOne chalcone-ester homologous series of mesogens α-4-[4/-n-alkoxybenzoyloxy phenyl β-4//methoxy benzoyl ethylenes (A) and one azo-ester homologous series of mesogens p-(p/-n-alkoxybenzoyloxy) phenyl azo-p//-methoxy benzene (B) being structurally similar are discussed.

Conversion of Esters to 2-Acetoxy Esters via 2-Nosyloxy Esters
Synthetic Communications, 1991Abstract Reaction of 2-nosyloxy esters, available in high yields from the reaction of trimethylsilyl ketene acetals with p-((nitrobenzene)sulfonyl) peroxide, with sodium acetate in DMF produces 2-acetoxy esters in good yields.

Determination of ester substituents in cellulose esters
Journal of Chromatography A, 1993Abstract A method to determine most ester substituents in cellulose esters has been developed. The cellulose ester is first dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide. The esters are rapidly hydrolyzed at room temperature by adding a mixture of methanol and sodium hydroxide.
