An Improved Heteroskedasticity and Autocorrelation Consistent Covariance Matrix Estimator

open access: yes, 1992
This paper considers a new class of heteroskedasticity and autocorrelation consistent (HAC) covariance matrix estimators. The estimators considered are prewhitened kernel estimators with vector autoregressions employed in the prewhitening stage.

The thioredoxin‐like and one glutaredoxin domain are required to rescue the iron‐starvation phenotype of HeLa GLRX3 knock out cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Glutaredoxin (Grx) 3 proteins contain a thioredoxin domain and one to three class II Grx domains. These proteins play a crucial role in iron homeostasis in eukaryotic cells. In human Grx3, at least one of the two Grx domains, together with the thioredoxin domain, is essential for its function in iron metabolism.

Black box systems identification with estimation

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2014
In  a  black  box  system  the  internal  parameters  are  not  observables  between  input-output relationships. An approach is made knowing as estimation, based on the second probability moment. These results with a functional error and the innovation

Re-calibration of sample means [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We consider the problem of calibration and the GREG method as suggested and studied in Deville and Sarndal (1992). We show that a GREG type estimator is typically not minimal variance unbiased estimator even asymptotically. We suggest a similar estimator

Disruption of SETD3‐mediated histidine‐73 methylation by the BWCFF‐associated β‐actin G74S mutation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The β‐actin G74S mutation causes altered interaction of actin with SETD3, reducing histidine‐73 methylation efficiency and forming two distinct actin variants. The variable ratio of these variants across cell types and developmental stages contributes to tissue‐specific phenotypical changes. This imbalance may impair actin dynamics and mechanosensitive

Development of adaptive sideslip angle estimator

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2016
The sideslip angle is used to control a vehicle for safety, however, it is hard to estimate the sideslip angle. In many researches, the estimator needs many unattainable variables, such as yaw inertia or cornering stiffness, to estimate the sideslip ...

The Behaviour of the Maximum Likelihood Estimator of Limited Dependent Variable Models in the Presence of Fixed Effects

open access: yes, 2004
The nonlinear fixed-effects model has two shortcomings, one practical and one methodological. The practical obstacle relates to the difficulty of computing the MLE of the coefficients of non-linear models with possibly thousands of dummy variable ...

On Improved Loss Estimation for Shrinkage Estimators

open access: yesStatistical Science, 2012
Let $X$ be a random vector with distribution $P_ $ where $ $ is an unknown parameter. When estimating $ $ by some estimator $ (X)$ under a loss function $L( , )$, classical decision theory advocates that such a decision rule should be used if it has suitable properties with respect to the frequentist risk $R( , )$.

Purification tags markedly affect self‐aggregation of CPEB3

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Although recombinant proteins are used to study protein aggregation in vitro, uncleaved tags can interfere with accurate interpretation. Our findings demonstrate that His₆‐GFP and His₁₂ tags significantly affect liquid droplet and amyloid fibril formation in the intrinsically disordered region (IDR) of mouse cytoplasmic polyadenylation element‐binding ...

Application of the Scaling Functions to Nonparametric Regression [PDF]

open access: yesInformatică economică, 2007
For estimating regression function we can use many proceedings. In this paper, we have chosen to apply scaling functions to the estimation of regression functions.
