Community Assembly Reveals How Environmental Controls Over Rodent Competition Drive Deer Mouse Density and Hantavirus Infection

open access: yesEcology Letters, Volume 29, Issue 4, April 2026.
We examined how community assembly processes shape Sin Nombre hantavirus (SNV) dynamics in rodent communities across the southwestern United States. Environmental factors structured community composition, which regulated deer mouse abundance and SNV infection, rather than diversity alone.

Connecting the Dots: Does COI Variability in Paramecium caudatum (Ciliates, Protista) Support the Moderate Endemicity Model of Microeukaryote Distribution?

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 53, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Understanding the biodiversity and distribution patterns of microbial eukaryotes is fundamental to biosphere research. The biogeography of free‐living protists remains contentious, with the ‘everything is everywhere’ and ‘moderate endemicity’ hypotheses representing competing paradigms.

The Roles and Purposes of Caring Touch in Health Professional Practice: A Discourse Analysis

open access: yesNursing Inquiry, Volume 33, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Research literature concludes that caring touch contributes to physical and psychological wellness. However, in health practice, touch is constructed as acceptable in some situations and not in others. Utilising interviews with nurses and other health professionals, the aim of this study was to explore the discourses shaping the role and ...

Titanium‐Doped In2O3: A High‐Mobility, Thermally Stable Back Contact for Bifacial Chalcopyrite Solar Cells

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 10, Issue 6, 29 March 2026.
In2O3:Ti is identified as a thermally stable and highly near‐infrared transparent back contact for (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells and modules. Under rear illumination, the short‐circuit current density is improved by ≈ 3 mA/cm2 as compared with a more standard In2O3:Sn back electrode.
