Estradiol benzoate treatment of an XY gonadal dysgenetic chacma baboon

Hormones and Behavior, 1984
Behavioral studies of an XY gonadal dysgenetic chacma baboon under estradiol benzoate treatment were carried out. The dysgenetic individual and two ovariectomized conspecific control females were given a total of three testing series. The dysgenetic individual showed progressive success in her sexual interactions with her male partners and during her ...

Effects of Estradiol Benzoate on Thyroid-Pituitary Function in Female Rats*

Endocrinology, 1978
Effects of ovariectomy (ovx) and ovx with estradiol benzoate (EB) therapy on total and free T3 (FT3), T4, and [125I]T3 disappearance rate; basal and post-TRH, TSH, T3, and T4 concentrations were studied in female rats. Two weeks after ovx, no significant change in hormone concentrations was observed.

A COMPARISON OF THE CLINICAL EFFECTIVENESS OF ESTRADIOL DIPROPIONATE AND ESTRADIOL BENZOATE

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1941
ESTRADIOL DIPROPIONATE has an apparent superiority over other parenteral estrogens in the treatment of menopausal symptoms. It will relieve and maintain patients symptom free with treatment once a week or, in the majority of cases, with treatment every two or three weeks (1,2).

Clinical Evaluation of Estrone, Estradiol Benzoate and Diethylstilbestrol

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1942
During the past several years a large number of articles have been published concerning the scientific and, oft times, speculative aspects of therapy with various estrogenic hormones. Physicians concerned with practical clinical results, and cost per treatment, will find few data in the literature on the relative effectiveness, duration of action ...

The Control of Menopausal Symptoms with Estradiol Benzoate

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1941
WHILE THE ELEMENT of physio-pathological variation is recognized in all applied forms of therapy and results in the chronic but neeeful caution to ‘individualize’ patients it is nowhere more apparent than in the use of endocrine substances for various biologic deficiencies.

Comparative responses of Peromyscus (white-footed mice) to estradiol benzoate

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Physiology, 1974
Abstract 1. 1. In a comparison of vaginal sensitivity to subcutaneously injected estradiol benzoate the oldfield mouse, Peromyscus polionotus , was found to have a lower dose-response curve and a higher median effective dose than the deer mouse, P. maniculatus , or the F 1 -hybrid of these two species. 2. 2. In comparisons of uterine weight

Ultrastructural changes in the adult rat thymus after estradiol benzoate treatment

Tissue and Cell, 1994
Although numerous authors have correlated high levels of circulating estrogens with thymic involution, a systematic analysis to date on the histological changes affecting the thymus gland in that situation is lacking. In the present study we report both histological and ultrastructural changes occurring in the thymus of adult Wistar rats which received

17β-Estradiol Benzoate Decreases the AHP Amplitude in CA1 Pyramidal Neurons

Journal of Neurophysiology, 2002
Disruption of Ca2+homeostasis is hypothesized to mediate several electrophysiological markers of brain aging. Recent evidence indicates that estradiol can rapidly alter Ca2+-dependent processes in neurons through nongenomic mechanisms. In the current study, electrophysiological effects of 17β-estradiol benzoate (EB) on the Ca2+-activated ...
